I quickly reported to the a female staff member at the reception (Bian Jie) and she was so understanding and gracious.
She quickly helped to clear the mess and was extremely helpful with dealing the problem. She found the culprit and told him of the rules, and offered me a change of room.
I'm really impressed with the service, and considering the amount you pay for one night (free laundry too), I think it's really worth it and the best hostel in Changsha.
