Monte Vardia

Our third year staying at this family run hotel with three generations involved. The two sisters - Eleni and Christina supported by their parents and Eleni’s sons - Niklas and John - are so welcoming and friendly. The hotel has a unique boutique feel about it as nothing is any problem for the owners or staff. The hotel pool is one of the best in Chania and the terrace view is the best in Chania. We will be back - thank you

My daughter Jodie and I only stayed a few days, I wish it could have been longer. I can only reiterate what everyone else is saying about Eleni, her sister and sons. Nothing was too much, they were the perfect hosts The large pool was stunning, the rooms airy and we had two balconies. The breakfasts were plentiful and tasty. Laundry facilities available should you wish. We hope to go back and say hi to everyone. I Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

great would not go anywhere else

We have just returned from our stay at the Monte Vardia hotel in Channia Crete. The hotel is situated just outside the main city of Channia which is around a 10 minute taxi ride into the city which is a stunning and beautiful place, alternatively you can get a bus that runs every 20 mins at a cost of 1.60 one way, we decided to do this as it stopped very close to the hotel. The Hotel is a family business run by Helen and her sister including her sons who went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. The pool is beautiful with excellent sun loungers and umbrellas. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Channia and would personally like to thank everyone at Monte Varia for making our stay comfortable.

After staying in Chania old port we were looking for something less crowded, hot and less noisy. What a gem of a place we found, this hotel is so peaceful and not too far from the airport. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. We had a beautiful home cooked meal and spent our day lazing by the amazing huge pool. There is a lovely cool breeze under the trees and views from the terrace are spectacular. However, what makes this family run hotel so special are the owners who go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone.

After much research, we choose Monte Vardia, and are so glad we did! Sisters Christina & Elena went above and beyond to ensure our family of 6 (from 15 to 85 years old) were well taken care of at all times. The rooms were perfect for our needs (family room to singles) inclusive of balconies all around, the pool area wonderful for lazy afternoons, and an incredible views! And further bonus, the food was great - a comprehensive breakfast selection, lunch by the pool, and the restaurant Gems - which we ate at 3 of the 4 nights - included excellent options, from yummy salads, pizzas and pastas, to amazing Family recipe specials. We did not have a car for this part of our stay, but getting taxi's about was easy with Christina and Elena's help as well as their many other recommendations on things to do and where to eat in the area and further afield in Crete. We are already planning our next visit - thank you Elena and Christina!

made our tenth pilgrimage to this hotel treated like royalty, wether you stay fora night or month you will not be disappointed. Everybody I have spoken praise Helen and Christina who along with their mother run the hotel nothing is to much trouble ask and it will be done. nothing more to add except keep a room empty for us in April

Staying at Monte Vardia, one feels ever so privileged. Nothing is too much trouble, and your every whim and request is greeted with a smile and the assurance that nothing is too much trouble. The ambience is second to none. As you enter the foyer, a gorgeous scent prevails, and you know you've hit the jackpot. The breakfast is legendary, and Gems Bistro is well regarded for amazing meals using the finest Cretan produce. The rooms we stayed in were all on the big side. The cleaning ladies are quiet and efficient. I believe most rooms come with balconies, and the super sized beds are like heaven on earth. The facilities are superbly maintained, and the gardens and pool area are once again a reminder that Monte Vardia is the ultimate holiday destination.

First time n Crete and the owners of Monte Vardia, Christina & Elena made our stay exceptionally welcoming! The hospitality absolutely amazing. 🙌🏼 Their eye for detail on every little thing was incomparable! An abundance of breakfast buffet, fresh, clean. Our room was made up daily, with fresh linen & towels. They never ceased to amaze us. And they did it all with a smile. Coming back in 2025 with extended family. Can’t wait!! ♥️
