Reviews of Cocoon City Hostel

This is the easiest top bunk I've ever climbed in a backpacker hostel. There are handholds on both sides, the locker is very spacious, and the kitchen is good too. It's only a 5-10 minute walk to the bustling area, and the common areas are always being cleaned. Highly recommended!

When I arrived, I was left standing at the door with my suitcases; there was no one inside. I waited for an hour and tried to hotel but couldn't. I wrote to Trip, and then they contacted me and I had them open the door, but unfortunately I had to wait in the cold and I got cold. Two hours later, an employee opened the door and didn't say a word, didn't apologize, or do anything else. I asked for cleaning, but that didn't happen either. When I entered the room, it was freezing cold. There was no one at the reception. I managed to get their WhatsApp number with great difficulty and contacted them through there. It's surprising they received such a high rating. Would I choose them again? No, I wouldn't.

The room itself was fine. The toilet and bathroom are shared, and the bathroom amenities weren't restocked in time. There's a public laundry room nearby, but the facilities aren't very reliable, and it only accepts cash.

The bus station from other cities are just 5mins (just 1 blocks), super convenient to travel to next destination. It is super clean and recommend to stay.

The hotel's facilities are new, which is great. However, there were a couple of downsides: there were no lockers with locks, which made me feel a bit uneasy, and the green emergency exit sign in the room was incredibly bright after the lights were turned off at night. The main reason for my low rating was that when I went to catch the airport shuttle around 6:40 AM, the main door was completely locked, preventing anyone from entering or exiting! There was no contact information or a call bell for the front desk either. I was in a panic, as the shuttle was about to leave, when thankfully another guest appeared. I asked him and learned there was a small side door I could use. I had to run like crazy to catch the airport shuttle, which only comes every half hour. I don't understand why this wasn't communicated to guests during check-in.

Location is good, super clean but the staff at reception nothing friendly… super serious nothing welcoming.

For sure is one of the best hostels I’ve ever been. Spacious, clean, well organised, amazingly decorated. However, one thing could be improved: assembling some shelves/niches beside beds. It’s annoying dropping my phone or anything through the gap between bed wall. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed my stay here. Private attached bathroom, and a separate toilet, with toiletries, and towels. Location is very central. The feel is more of a 5 star hotel, than a hostel! I don't need to say much. Just take a look at all the pictures I have taken the photos. Its without any edit. See them for yourself.

Great location, in the core position of Chania. The amenities are new and clean, and the room is tidy. Maybe it’s off season so I haven’t seen any staff either check in nor check out, but it’s not bad for me.

Nothing special, but it's central.
