What an experience! If you are looking for the look and feel of Charleston, this is the place! We felt well cared for, the breakfasts were well planned, cleanliness and service impeccable. We were also within walking distance of all attractions.

Vaughan was a wonderful host for our first trip to Charleston. She gave us great advice on restaurants and activities in town! We loved her beautiful home and visiting with her in the mornings and sharing our daily adventures. We spent 3 days here and ate at restaurants she suggested each night...all over the top fantastic.

Over the years, We have had numerous trips and have stayed in some of Charleston’s finest hotels and B&Bs —- however, this was a stay to remember. 22 Charlotte and Vaughan Alsbrook (Owner) were spectacular in hosting my wife and I on a short get away. The accommodations were very clean and the home is absolutely breath taking; southern charm, history and over all warmth fills every room. The amenities and hospitality were A+. Location was perfect in the heart of the Historic District and so much to do and experience. We will be returning and hopeful to spend another stay here!! Thank you !!

When I recently visited Charleston, SC, with my husband, we knew one thing for sure: we didn’t want to stay at a cold and generic chain hotel. From what we read on the website, 22 Charlotte promised to provide a unique experience staying in the historic home of a native South Carolinian; not only did 22 Charlotte not disappoint, it exceeded our expectations! Miss Vaughan Alsbrook is the quintessential Southern lady and made us feel warm and welcome in her beautiful home. From the delicious freshly made breakfasts, to the lovely home rich with charm and nostalgia, to the inviting piazzas (balconies), we couldn’t have asked for more. Her knowledge of Charleston and suggestions for places to visit were invaluable and made navigating the city effortless. Miss Vaughan has a passion for sharing knowledge, something clearly evident in her love of culture which includes art, architecture, literature, and cinema. After the first day of our 5-day visit, we already felt as though we were staying in the home of a longtime friend. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else the next time we visit Charleston than 22 Charlotte!

Our 2 night stay at "22 Charlotte" was wonderful and we enjoyed the exceptional accommodations very much! Our room was spacious, well-decorated, and very comfortable. The hearty traditional Southern breakfast was also delightful. The owner was extremely gracious, and she provided great advice on local sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. We will definitely stay at "22 Charlotte" again on our next visit to Charleston.

We had a lovely stay. Great location, easy to walk around the historic town. We shared delicious breakfasts with wonderful travelers. Our hostess, Ms. Vaughan, was very gracious and entertaining, and we shared many tales and memories from our state of SC. The house, a historic home, is beautiful, and the bedrooms are very comfortable and quiet. One of our best stays in Charleston ever. We will definitely return.
