Candlewood Suites - Charlotte - Arrowood, an IHG Hotel

We were going to stay here Saturday night for my bday weekend but had to leave and find another hotel. We checked in at 4 put things on the room and left. We were out and about all day Saturday and return to room Saturday night about 9ish and the room was infested with stink bugs! They were crawling all over the curtains, crawling on walls, we pulled the comforter back and they were in the bed also! My husband killed several of them. The lady on shift at front desk was very understanding and nice she refund our money. Definitely hate my bday weekend turned out this way!

Someone need to tell this Woman that she handled herself with such contempt and kindness that if I was her I would have no longer would be able to be with my kids. I was at a Candlewood suites in Charlotte NC by Arrowood the night lady ZuZu was just speechless. Not only where there guest who where talking down to her with such disgust but also racial hatred towards her and nasty behavior but such verbal violence and all she said was “ I’m so sorry for the inconvenience I’ll let my manager know in the morning I’ll shoot her an email but in the meantime can I help you with anything else ?” And she smiled genuinely. Even after those horrible people walked away she kept smiling and assisted others. I’ve never in my life seen someone with such high praise and contempt especially when those horrible racial slurs. I want to thank her and let her know I appreciate all the help she gave my family and kids during our stay and even applaud her for bitting her tongue because that type of abuse is not acceptable nor should be tolerated just because she is not the same as those people. My kids really said “mommy the art lady so nice she helped me tie my shoe and told me be careful”. I will reach out to corporate and I hope someone will show her this and let her know she is an outstanding person and keep up the great work.

We had a wonderful stay with our family! After a long day of unexpected travel issues we were greeted with a warm welcome from Julia. We have traveled a lot over the years and she is truly the most kind and genuine employee I’ve ever encountered! She took the time to help us get settled and ensure we’d have a great stay. The rooms were so spacious and thoroughly cleaned. The pool area was the perfect hangout and the hotel is tucked away in a quiet nice area. We had the windows open and it was so quiet! A wonderful stay, but the best part was the customer service we received. Thank you Julia, I hope you are valued as an employee because you are a great one! Thanks for a great stay. We will for sure be back the next time we are in the area.

Was disappointed at check-in customer service was not pleasant the lady with glasses but later that night I needed a few essentials and the lady who helped me last was very helpful and very nice she had tattoos Zuzu (hope got her name right) was friendly went above and beyond to get the essentials I needed I even expressed my concerns about my arrival and she was genuine and apologetic and I appreciated her for even being that way when it wasn’t even her fault. I did notice that their laundry room was out of order but Zuzu did help assist with that which was helpful.

It was a good clean stay and convienient

Door didn't lock. Didn't even need a key it literally pushed right open. Heat didn't work.

After traveling 7 hours from York PA for an overnight stay, my family and I were highly disappointed with the customer service and the condition of this hotel. I realize customer service can be challenging at times, but a simple "good afternoon" or a "how may I help you" would have been nice. The rep at the desk just looked at us. My husband told her we had reservations and all she said was they didn't have any rooms at the time and that we should call back in about 30 minutes. I asked where the bathrooms were and she pointed. The lobby superficially looks clean, but once my daughter and I used the restroom we knew this hotel wasn't going to meet the basic cleanliness requirement. Being disgusted I said out loud that the customer service was horrible and that it wasn't clean. However I felt we could tough it out for one night. We went to the store to purchase cleaning supplies. When we returned the same rep was much nicer and helpful. She directed us to the elevator. As we were walking toward the elevator there was a horrible odor that got worse the deeper into the hotel we got. The 2nd floor reeked of feet and musk. We got into the room and it smelled stale. Superficially it looked clean but when I pulled the sheets back there were stains. I then walked into the bathroom and the white tub looked gray with hair in the tub and on the toilet. We made the decision to leave immediately. I can deal with dated accommodations, but the cleanliness has to be top priority, especially in light of the pandemic the world has experienced with Covid and its variants. We were tired, but not tired enough to stay at this hotel. I sincerely hope that the management of this hotel seriously addresses the complaints of its patrons and reiterate the importance of basic customer service.

the hotel was nice, right off the interstate. The only issue I had was I was given a different room than the one I reserved on orbitz. The hotel staff said it was orbitz fault not theirs. I reserved a 2 queen bed suite with a sofa and lounge chair, but got a studio with 2 queen beds and only the chair. The hotel said orbitz reservation sent to them by orbitz was for the room I got. They said they were sold out of rooms with the sofa's, and it was Not their fault but orbitz I got the incorrect room. Basicly the Hotel Staff took no blame for my not getting the room I reserved.

The hotel was located in a reasonable distance to Carowinds, the reason for our stay. The check-in went smoothly but once we got to our rooms, we were a little disappointed. It had a weird smell and although the hotel is listed as smoke-free, there was obviously several people smoking inside the hotel. The rooms were pretty clean, just a little outdated. They had ONE luggage cart but decent relief areas for pets.
