The room was fine, if without any special charm. Check-in was slow and with no real warmth or style. The welcome drink (for the Accor card-holder only, not for both guests as in some Mercures) was an utterly undrinkable Chablis. In a similarly mean vein only one bottle of mineral water for 2 in the room. The breakfast was good and served in a bright, cheerful and spotless room. I’d return as the prices are much keener than those for the somewhat dowdy rooms at the Grand Monarque next door, but without any great joy in doing so.

The hotel generally well located in the center next to the train station. That is convenient in order to walk to nearby attractions, but the hotel has no car parking so that guests are being directed to public overnight parking in the city center, which is anything but inexpensive. The hotel as such is perfectly acceptable with renovated rooms. We had a junior suite for two adults and one daughter, but when we arrived in the evening we first had to find someone to arrange for a bed for our daughter as the room was set up only for two. Walls are rather thin here so you have little insulation and can hear others well in neighboring rooms. That was not a problem for us as the hotel wasn't full and we stayed there for just one night, but perhaps is less ideal if you stay longer. There is typically only one staff member on duty, so service is not the greatest. We asked for directions to a nearby restaurant but the attendant didn't even know the place that was recommended throughout in all relevant directories, on Tripadvisor, etc. Breakfast is fully self-service, including as to coffee with very basic prefabricated products, nothing special. What completely marred our experience is the fact that we had reserved and pre-paid our junior suite with breakfast included, yet at checkout were charged again separately for breakfast. That is perhaps a mistake that can happen, but was is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE is the fact that the hotel when dark when we contacted them subsequently after having left and realized the additional charge. Not a single response to this date even after multiple messages/emails sent asking for correction of the mistake. Such behavior is completely unprofessional and not to be excused. Hence, we would recommend to stay away from this place and go elsewhere.

I use this Chartres hotel regularly as a stop driving down through France. really helpful staff and clean and comfortable. One point is the doors to the internal fire escape close so heavily that they shake the rooms nearby. The closers should have a dual action , with a damper to close the last few centimeters quietly without compromising the fire performance of the door. Just need a skilled engineer to set these up right. It would guarantee a more peaceful night's sleep.

We enjoyed the staff's reception, the room and breakfast. Just a bemol for traffic noise at 6 a.m. it woke me up. The staff is very pleasant, professional. They advised us to eat in Buffalo Grill of Barjouville, we were excited

L'hôtel est bien installé, face à une place au parking gratuit la nuit, et à 10mn à pied de la cathédrale. L'accueil est parfait, et la rénovation du lobby plus proche de la gamme supérieure des IBIS Style. Les chambres, elles, restent un peu en dessous dans leur jus historique, et mériteraient elles aussi une rénovation. Ceci étant, on y dort bien et la literie est confort. Une adresse sur laquelle je reviendrais donc sans soucis.

We arrived after midnight but there was somebody available to check us in. They were very friendly & cheerful despite it being so late. The room was absolutely fine. It was clean & comfy & idea for an overnight stay. The bathroom & shower were clean & towels were adequate. Breakfast the next morning was fine with plenty of choice for the value. The hotel isn’t easy to find as others have mentioned in previous reviews, it’s worth doing a walk through on google maps beforehand so you can see how to access it through car parks of other businesses.

The hotel is very clean and beautiful. We were happy to find her next day at breakfast service with her colleague Ophelie. We are going to cross Micheline, the rooms charged, and we are also wishing a good trip, with a smile. I don't know if we'll have the opportunity to return to Chartres but in any case I recommend this hotel and wish all hotelmen a personal as devoted !
