Great swimming pool and spa. Restaurant for dinner was delicious. Perfect location at the riverside to have a walk in the evening.

Good location along the river; not too far from Chengde's main attractions. Decent enough bed but lacking proper air-conditioning. Staff spoke no English, of course, but what should one expect in China?

My experience was overall good, but the bathroom of the room I booked for the first night (single, queen bed) was so stinky at night that I could not bear it. I called the concierge, and the maid came to clean the bathroom (they were very fast= good service) but the problem is in the pipes, not in the cleanliness, (it was very clean) so spraying a bit of air freshener won't solve the problem. I changed rooms the following night.
Also, it was quite noisy at night and in the early morning, they should keep an eye on noisy guests.
Last thing, but not less important, people were smoking inside the hotel corridors and it was stinky. The management should try to enforce the rules of non-smoking. I understand that know nobody in the hotel wants to call on the smoking clients, but not enforcing the law results in other clients being unhappy too.
All in all, I would probably stay there again.

Excellent stay, the service is extremely attentive, the location is very convenient (both to major sightseeing spots and railway station). The rooms are well equipped and modern. The most delightful thing is the restaurant hotel, the cuisine is very variable and delicious. The stuff is very welcoming, we were late for lunch but they served it even out of working hours.

The hotel is in Chinese style. I booked a duplex room. The room is very good. The decoration of the room feels very retro to me. I can drink tea and read a book at the same time. It is very artistic. The room was very clean, and welcome fruits and almond syrup were given in the afternoon. The front desk service was also very good. The waiter Li Wei also helped us carry our luggage and delivered it to our room. The staff asked for a quilt and it was delivered immediately. It is very close to major attractions such as the Summer Resort, Little Potala Palace, Puning Temple, and Bangchui Mountain.
