Spice House

A very comfortable stay. The breakfast was consistently delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and truly flavorful, not just aesthetically pleasing. The hotel's location is excellent, nestled within the old town but set back from the main road, yet still very close to nearby attractions. We walked to several scenic spots, which was incredibly convenient. In the afternoon, you can hear the gentle, peaceful chimes from a nearby temple. Highly recommended.

Great location, just a few meters to the main road, offering a quiet escape while still being close to the action. It's only a 5-minute walk to Tha Phae Gate and there's a 7-Eleven on the way. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard (surprisingly, very few mosquitoes, even in the room). No pool, but the made-to-order breakfast is healthy and tasty (a fitness enthusiast's dream!). The only downside is that the shower water temperature is hard to adjust.

We arrived a little early but were able to check in. All the staff members smiled when they made eye contact, which was very pleasant.

The hotel's garden environment is absolutely fantastic, and the breakfast is exquisite. It's super convenient, right near Tha Phae Gate. Wandering around the old city really gives you that perfect vacation vibe! Next time I'm in Chiang Mai, I'm definitely staying here again.

The room and location were decent, but there were two major downsides: the shower water and the soundproofing. The soundproofing was terrible, and they put us right next to the stairs, so we were constantly bothered by all sorts of noise from morning till night. Also, the shower water kept going hot and cold, and the water pressure was weak. It was really annoying to shower; not being able to have a good shower after a long day is a huge negative! The breakfast was pretty unappetizing too. All in all, I definitely won't be choosing this place again.

Do not book this hotel if you want to take a shower. The water temperature constantly fluctuates between scalding hot and icy cold. Just when you try to adjust it to a comfortable warm, it turns cold again in no time. You simply can't get a decent shower here.

The attitude of the staff and the value for money are both excellent. I didn't encounter any issues with staff being perfunctory if I didn't tip, or refusing to clean. It was great. Plus, the bar staff at night were really friendly and invited me to join their party, eating grilled chicken and drinking beer – very welcoming! The actual hotel environment is even better than what's shown in the pictures. (Just a little tip, you don't need to go out between 1 PM and 4 PM. I woke up from my nap and heard the temple bells outside my door – it was incredibly peaceful.) I'll show you a video.

This place is really close to Tha Phae Gate, easily walkable. It has a small garden, offering a quiet escape despite being in a lively area. I'd read reviews beforehand about the shower water being inconsistent (hot and cold), and that was indeed my experience. The rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and there's no elevator, so you'll need to carry your luggage up.
