Loved this hotel.. Everything about it was good. Friendly staff, nice swimming pool , great location..stayed in two different rooms both very nice

I had a room that both door and window overlooked interior courtyards, which meant that it was completely separate from the town making it quiet and restful. It had a couple of quirks -- there was a long list of things not to steal, there was a (very cute) do not disturb/out of room hanger that was always by the room. My room (and presumably each room) had its own router which is both very nice (more reliable) and a bit inconvenient at times (the network in the breakfast area was different, the router was on an outlet that was turned on by putting my key in the key holder so it always took a couple of minutes to start back up when I returned). The location is good. It has the usual local quirks (such as not being able to flush toilet paper). They seem to be still ramping up after the shutdown -- breakfast was buffet for two mornings and order off a menu for the other one.

Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und bemüht sich sehr jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Auch die Abholung für die Weiterreise zu sehr frühen Morgenstunde wurde unkompliziert organisiert und hat super funktioniert. Das Frühstück im Hotel wurde jeden Morgen mit Liebe gemacht und sehr geschmackvoll angerichtet serviert. Der Bereich um den Pool ist nicht so groß, aber super schön und einladend. Zudem gibt es einen Chill- und Rückzugsbereich, in welchem man, wenn nötig, auch arbeiten könnte. Die offene und helle Bauweise ist super schön und sorgt dafür, dass man sich gleich sehr wohl fühlt. Die Lage des Hotels ist in einer angenehmen Gegend und ermöglicht unkompliziert fussläufig die wunderschöne und lebhafte Altstadt zu erkunden. Wer ein gemütliches Hotel in einer etwas ruhigeren Straße, aber dennoch zentral sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Stylish small boutique hotel in downtown Chiang Mai. The rooms are very nicely furnished, well maintained and clean. The staff is always very friendly and tries very hard to fulfill every wish. The pick-up for the onward journey at a very early hour in the morning was also organized in an uncomplicated manner and worked great. The breakfast in the hotel was made with love every morning and served very tastefully. The area around the pool is not that big but very nice and inviting. There is also a relax and remote area where you could work if necessary. The open and bright design is beautiful and ensures that you feel very comfortable right away. The location of the hotel is in a nice area and makes it easy to explore the beautiful and lively old town by foot. If you are looking for a cozy hotel in a quieter street, but still in the center, this is the place for you.

This quaint hotel was rather underwhelming with the service. Upon arrival, we were ”greeted” with unwelcoming receptionist. Not that we couldn't help ourselves with my one luggage, it would have been nice if an offer to help by the receptionist/bellboy. In the end we carried the luggage to our room, up 3 flights of stairs, with the receptionist walking casually behind. Next, we had trouble with the lock to the door. The same receptionist took our key card and tried (almost breaking it with some brute force) before it worked. One of the key catd seemed to be not working. Instead of sending the replacement key card to us, the receptionist ”instructed” us to collect from the front desk. Of which, we obliged so as not be too self-entittled. It would have been nice if it was otherwise. One of the house keeping staff (female) was consistent in maintaining her disinterest in service. When asked about the switch for the jacuzzi in the main swimming pool, she just replied ”no, no, no”.... when my friends and i asked for the pool towel from the front desk, (yes, the towel ran out and no one was there to help), the same female staff appeared with a few towels. She really looked unhappy and always like stomped off after leaving two stacks of towels thereafter. The bext day when i asked for the shower gel and shampoo to use from the front desk (since it was not replenished during house keeping) again, the same staff brought over the small bottles of shower gel and shampoo. She just left the littles bottles in my hands and turned away... when i thank her nonetheless, she walked on without turning or any form of acknowledgement. well, i supposed she must be hvaing a hard time at the workplace. I wish her well. So i informed the manager that the staff may indeed need some help to cope. To wrap the final day (and our less pleasant stay here), my friends witness a couple of units at our block who smoked in front of their units. One even had the ash-tray on the coffee table (similar to the one left at the designated smoking area). That left us rather puzzled that why the double standards where those guests were given the liberty to smoke in front of their units and for my friends, they had to climb 3 flights of stairs to the designated smoking area each time when they wish to smoke. Nonetheless, the manager of the hotel did her best to address our feedback when we were checking out. Thank you for listening to us.

So we are still at this beautiful hotel for another few days, what a fabulous stay! It's the little things that make a stay perfect right? Here at Phor Liang Meun Hotel you are greeted with such friendly and helpful staff everytime you walk through the grounds. These beautiful people just could not do enough to support our stay. The hotel itself, lovely! Clean, well provided for, beautiful surrounds, lush Thai sites at every head turn. The rooms are so comfortable and the pool area so relaxing. Breakfast is included I our room and the tray is amazing...tip: don't order too much as is plenty there to fill you up all day! There is a vibe of kindness and hospitality here that offers its guests a peace of mind. A keen business eye will also note the creative yet uncompromising responses to the difficulties experienced in the past few years for all businesses in tourism in Thailand, and I can only applaud management for their innovation and continuity of perfect service throughout the tough times. You will never regret staying here, the location is perfect for a great holiday and the hotel and its team will keep you riding the holiday chill vibes every minute of your stay 💜🇹🇭💜 we will be back!

We stayed at the El Barrio Lanna 2/13/23 - 2/15/23 on a short trip to Chiang Mai. We loved this hotel! We had a beautiful large room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The bed was super comfortable compared to the some of the other rock hard mattresses we experienced during our trip. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. The hotel is centrally located and an easy walk to Wat Chedi Luang. Stop by the Namamema hotel ice cream stand for some delicious homemade coconut sea salt ice cream! Since returning to the States, friends have asked about traveling to Thailand. I’ve told them if they go to Chiang Mai, please stay at the lovely El Barrio Lanna hotel.

We stayed at the Pingviman Hotel in Chiang Mai on our Honeymoon in December. The hotel is in the perfect location and you can access most places quite easily by foot, motorcycle, bicycle or tuk tuk. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. One of the highlights of this hotel was the concierge, Art. He helped us find some incredible activities to do, at really competitive and affordable pricing. We really enjoyed the activities he recommended for us. Something I will say is that the cleanliness could be slightly better and the rooms could use a deep clean post-Covid. Breakfast was also very basic in comparison to some of the other hotels we stayed at in Thailand. Overall is was a lovely stay and hassle-free experience and we would stay here again.

We stayed at the Makkachiva for 7 nights and we had a great time. Every single member of staff was a star but I must give a special mention to Phueng who took care of us at breakfast each morning. Her smiley face and incredible service was a joy, thank you Phueng. We had a 4th floor room overlooking the street which was great, being able to watch the sun set each evening. The hotel also has an AMAZING collection of Thai art adorning every wall, there are many incredible pieces. We had the joy of being here at Songkran and the staff gave us a special welcome home that day. The hotel doesn't have a pool but for 200 Baht each we got a day ticket to Chimes around the corner. If you are looking for a hotel that's central to old town Chiang Mai that is beautiful, comfortable and has great staff I recommend the Makkachiva.

Location The hotel is located in the middle of the old town and looks rather unseen from outside. With its location you can run the whole city with all its Buddhist temples and markets very well. Rooms We had booked a small suite. The view from the balcony was modest, but best suited to track the life on the street. Our room was an idyll; a more beautiful, stylish bathroom I have not yet experienced. The whole Thai interior was cozy, practical and for the well-being. Personal really meant friendliness and helpfulness were at the top. The staff at the reception always had a answer to all our questions, if not themselves, then they at least knew who they can call. Breakfast mix between a la Carte and buffet; everything fresh and delicious. Pool narrow and directly behind the limit wall. Not for long stays to the sun, but best to swim a few rails.

I stayed at Villa Lantara for a week and loved it. Great location overlooking the Old City moat, close to bars and restaurants - Wua Lai Walking Street with its fabulous and cheap street food is a couple of minutes walk away - and 5 minutes walk away from Loi Kroh Road where you’ll find even more places to eat and drink and have a massage. Staff very friendly and accommodating. I stayed in one of their suites which are very large and comfortable with huge balconies looking over Bumrung Buri Road. Some of the most beautiful temples in Chiang Mai are also nearby. I would definitely stay here again.
