De Chai Colonial Hotel & Spa
4.3/571 Reviews
Night Bazaar Area
I booked this hotel through Tripmasters based on location and reviews. Close (10 minute) taxi ride from airport (250 bhat). Check in was quick with cold juice provided. There was always someone at reception early in morning and late at night. There are 2 elevators although a little small and slow but wasn’t much of an issue as hotel wasn’t full. Room was spacious with platform bed, which was on the firm side with decent pillows. Mini fridge and 2 water bottles provided per day. Not much space to put away clothes as there was no dresser or counter space. Bathroom was spacious with bathtub and shower. Shower pressure was good, although stall was a little small and opened out to toilette. Wifi was spotty but worked for the most part. AC worked well especially since 2nd key can be left in room. We didn’t eat any meals there since there were so many options near the hotel that were cheaper. Pros: location, good AC, room size Cons: spotty wifi, small shower

Good hotel -- quiet rooms. Free water every day. Safe in the room (no charge). Very friendly staff at check-in -- allowed us to check-in 3h earlier. Car park next to the hotel with 24/7 parking security guard. Comfy beds and huge bathrooms. New pool area. In walking distance to old town and night markets.

Just checked out from room 304 which was clean and quiet. Thoroughly enjoyed my four day stay at this hotel which is situated close to the night market. Everything in the room worked well including the air conditioning, shower and fridge and the staff were pleasant. Highly recommended.
Villa Thapae

We were now the third time in the Villa Thapae and are excited by this oasis of peace and the middle of the old town, by the lovely setting of the rooms in modernThai style. We love the rooms with pool access and the possibility of going through the shower directly to the pool. The staff and especially Fray are very struggling to the well-being of guests. Even for a video conference my husband had during our stay, an extra temporary office was set up. Thank you so much Fray. See you soon again.
Sleep Mai Thapae Chiang Mai Old City Lifestyle Hotel

Stayed in Sleep Mai Thapae for 6 days, and it was the most comfortable stay. The breakfast spread was decent. They had a variety of dishes, mostly pork. Unfortunately, we don't take pork. Apart from that, the spread was decent. Location wise, Sleep Mai Thapae is right smack in the centre of Chiang Mai's old town's hustle and bustle. We could walk to most places. Highly recommended.

This was a last minute change and regret we didn't get to stay here the whole time in Chiang Mai compared to the noisy and untidy guesthouse down the road. It was also cheaper here too so was a great find - definitely got my high rating :)
