Reviews of Fenchihu Hotel

The hotel is decent with mainly wood structure - nostalgia feel. The location is also very convenient near to the train station and bus station. There is a 7-11 which is just next (or rather up the stairs) in the same building. It is nearby the old street as well. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful with the directions going up Alishan. There is water dispenser near the staircase. We had the dinner at the hotel where it serves by per pax. The portion of the food is big and sufficient for our group of 5 to eat.

This is the main fenchihu hotel with the railway bentos. Front desk staff are very nice and helpful! The pork bento is also strangely much better than the chicken one imo (and full of veggies which was super enjoyable). You do need to first carry your luggage down a steep flight of stairs from the train station to get to the old street, which is where they are at (right where the 7/11 is, you can't miss it). There's no bottled water, but there is a water dispenser. They also provide 2 in 1 soap in the toilet. The room was very clean but (1) they don't do daily house keeping, so my trash really piled up after 3 days, (2) there is no aircon and the blanket is THICK so I would recommend that you turn the fan on, it helps alot, and (3) I had drain flies appear in the toilet on the second day and the drain did start to stink. Breakfast voucher is 200 NTD per room per day for use at the 7/11.

We stay here after visiting Alishan. It's not near Alisha, it's located in a very small town. One of the better hotels in that town, there is a small night market but we were late so by the time we arrived most shops are closed. They are next to 7-11 very interesting design and decor. Provides nice traditional railway bento boxes for ordering.

It's a pretty nostalgic hotel and a nice lovely place to visit. Most of its counter staff were quite helpful, esp we appreciate the young man with specs very patient when we asked questions (although not the other girl next to him who is rather blunt) Overall, we stayed 2 nights in 2 different rooms, one with a little wooden bath tub, which is cute! Their bento meal is a must try!🫰Hope the price is maintained for visiting folks to try them. Will recommend staying if the price is favourable.

I had to book a quadruple room as they didn't have any double rooms available when I booked it so they gave the one in the corner and it was fantastic because I had good views. They give vouchers for breakfast at the 7-Eleven so I got 4 vouchers, letting me buy whatever I wanted( except electronics devices, cigarettes or alcohol). It was worthy The staff can speak good English (at least one guy at that time). You got a discount for the lunchbox I'd recommend it!

This is probably the most established hotel in Fenqihu, when you’re on the way to Alishan, either as a pitstop to get bento lunch or as an overnight stay. The facilities are very old and dated (I think maybe 90s renovated?), I stayed in the Japanese inspired room so it was on a tatami and low tables. There’s even a solo Japanese tub for you to soak in. All good. I appreciate the multiple wifi names as the property is quite sparse so the wifi signal is bound to be terrible. With multiple wifi spots with the same password, it’s easy to connect and have good wifi. I don’t like that the aircon is non-existent that there’s a fan. There’s a dehumidifier because the room is very humid from the bathroom. I think a lot of renovations need to happen to make this place more desirable. The 3 walking tours are amazing, the guide is so informative and helpful, she takes really good Instagram content! She only conducts the tour in mandarin so take note.

This is a old small hotel with comfortable rooms good for a nights stay. We picked fenchihu instead of staying at Alishan which was too expensive and probably made the best choice. Hotel has a 7-11 connected with breakfast coupons but suggest using the coupons for snacks /drinks and having breakfast at a small pancake stall 30m turning right exiting the hotel. The bacon egg pancake is fantastic

Nice hotel, staff are friendly and helpful. Is right by train and bus (Fenqihu is tiny though so everything is close). They have free tours of the area.

Spacious room, a good place for transit to alishan Mountain next day

The hotel is Japanese styled, in a good location. Hot water is limited to certain timings, morning and evening. You leave your footwear outside the room. Really loves the good food in the restaurant just next to it

Simple room with excellent service. next to 7-11 and provides great bento meal. The ribs were delicious! Practically at the start of town if you drive or take train. But note there’s a steep slope at entrance to town if you are bringing luggage

Great location. Very helpful staff who helped to find me a carpool to Alishan, saving me and my fellow carpool passengers both time and money. Highly recommended!

The hotel is really clean and staff were so nice and speak English fluently! Hotel provided you a 100ntd breakfast coupons and you can spend it at 7-eleven.

Hotel located at Center of Fenchihhu old street & go anywhere will be convenient. The hotel provide free guided tour around the area so do confirm the tour guide rest day with hotel. Must try hotel train bento & must dine in since offer the best value compare to other shop. My room provide a good view but no aircon & only fan. The room really showing the old aged of the hotel. The breakfast included are NT100 voucher to spend at 7-11. Do walk around to find restaurant offer wasabi chicken soup (must try). Another local delicacy as in photo. Both are nearby so happy exploring. Almost forgot, hotel are without lift so pack light.
