The environment is top-notch, with a rich sense of history, making for an excellent stay. Most importantly, it feels incredibly safe, which really put my mind at ease. Dining options nearby are super convenient; a food street is right outside, making life incredibly easy. Definitely great value for money!

No service whatsoever! No one helped with luggage, they forgot to clean the room, and every request made to the front desk was met with an 'okay' but nothing ever happened.

The front desk staff were warm and friendly. They were very patient with me, even though my English isn't great, and used translation software to help. My room had a city view; while it wasn't a lake view, I could see the tall buildings outside. The room was spacious, and although the decor was a bit dated, it was exceptionally clean. You have to pick up bottled water yourself from the front desk. The location is superb, directly across from the lakeside and a park. It's within walking distance of Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago. The Magnificent Mile and Chicago River are a bit further to walk, but the #3 bus right outside the hotel makes it very convenient to get there. It's close to the business district, near the subway, and there's a Macy's nearby. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, and there's even a Starbucks on the first floor of the hotel, making it very easy to grab things. The hotel opened in 1920-something, so it's almost a century old and many historical figures have stayed here. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip.
