Beautiful historic hotel in an amazing location. The staff were wonderful. The room was amazing. I would book again.

It is located next to the lake at the north end of Michigan Avenue in Chicago, and it is the best location with the luxury street right next to it.
I also plan to stay at Daumeng.

We booked a single night with my points to enjoy a night in the city. We thought The Drake would be fabulous but we were very disappointed. We had a standard King room on a high floor but still faced a brick wall. Made the room so dark and it felt very dated and dingy. Not charming as expected. No convenient outlets. No mini fridge so our dinner leftovers were wasted. Bed was very bouncy and pillows were super flat. And we kept turning the temp down but at 66 it was still hot in the room. Very low water pressure and a tiny tub. I know itโs an old building but the doorway was super narrow and the floor felt uneven. Was such a waste of a free night. The front desk even asked if we wanted an upgrade but then said it would be additional $ so we skipped it. Will not be back.

I had a terrible night's sleep - and thats why one stays at a hotel: sleep.
The room temperature was unbearably high. I heard all the excuses about heat on or off, old building etc...had to call for a window to be opened, then i needed a coat over the covers caise it was too cold.
The charm of the Drake is overshadowed by discomfort.

The Drake is an old, nostalgic hotel. We enjoyed our time and the staff is amazing! I gave lower score as facilities in the hotel need upgrade from chipped dรฉcor, peeling wallpaper etc. For the amount you pay for this hotel the amenities and facilities need a facelift.

Bed was comfortable. Bathroom could use some updates. Lobby was beautiful for Christmas. Great breakfast and service in the restaurant on the lower level.

In spite of information online, and in the room ipad and the button on the phone, they do NOT do room service. Breakfast options are ONLY grab and go at their coffee shop. The front desk staff at check in was great, but other than that a disappointing stay

Very outdated and zero amenities. You had to pay extra if you wanted a mini fridge! Also walls were so thin I had to listen to every word and other sounds from my neighbors all night long. I discussed this with the front desk and the woman shrugged her shoulders and said "sorry." For $300 I would spend my money elsewhere in the city.
