Roscoe Village Guesthouse

"Roscoe Village Guesthouse" consists of several different apartments in different locations (we had Roscoe 2). This particular location suited our needs, but in view of the hefty rental fee, we expected a much nicer apartment. The building itself is worrisome in terms of security: the entrance door from the street is not properly fitted to the doorframe so does not open/shut smoothly and the doorknob fell off in my hand (!). The staircase up to our unit is very steep and lacks a full handrail. The apartment is functional, with a well-equipped kitchen, however other rooms left much to be desired. We found: Wear and tear on much of the furniture; scruffy wall to wall carpeting in the bedrooms; stains on some sheets; both bathrooms with insufficient towel bars/shelving. Bathroom closest to the living room had a very loose/wobbling sink faucet, broken toilet roll holder and a dysfunctional shower head (the useful handheld part didn't work). The managers are kind and responsive, e.g. helped with the crazy doorknob problem - well, not actually fixing it, but gave advice on how to live with it - and the remaining issues seemed to indicate that this apartment gets heavy use and not much actual oversight, repair or renewal.

I recently spent five days in Chicago with my family of four, and Rosco Guest House was the perfect accommodation for us! The apartment was immaculate, featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. Our stay here truly made our trip wonderful and memorable. The beautiful neighborhood allowed us to walk to almost everywhere we wanted to go, with restaurants and shops just a stone's throw away. I must also mention how fantastic Stephanie was. She is incredibly friendly and responsive. I highly recommend staying at Rosco Village Guest House!
