Club Quarters Hotel Central Loop, Chicago

Club Quarters Hotel Central Loop, Chicago

Chicago Loop Chicago|1.86km from Field Museum
Location is quite good as it is within walking distance of local mass transit systems, shopping, eateries, and attractions. The location is also close enough to Grant Park that you could start a run and make it to the park very quickly to continue on for a few miles. Even based on location alone, I would return to this hotel. As others had mentioned, there is a refillable water bottle station by the elevators (empty bottles also provided), which is a great feature. The elevator had a weird quirk where it would overshoot the desired floor when going up (remedy the situation by pressing the button again to send the elevator down to the desired floor). If you do some research into the hotel and its reviews prior to booking there shouldn't really be any surprises. I went into the stay having some idea of what to expect and that helped me enjoy my stay. There is no mini-fridge in the standard room, which is also on the small side but perfectly fine if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel. The only seating in the hotel room was the desk chair. Some of the furnishings could use updating but the bed felt itself was great and the room was clean. I couldn't find any in-room controls for the temperature, but I did not have a problem with this; it's just something to be aware of. The bathroom was clean and utilitarian but towels and toiletries were provided. Updated charging station/hub/clock (both USB A and USB C) for both the desk and the nightstand would go a long way. This hotel is one tenant of a building that was built in the early 1900s. If you've ever lived in a building from around that time, you get used to some things being a little bit older and quirky. Since my priorities were having a great location for a reasonable price (compared to the nearby competition) that was also clean, accessible by mass transit, and had access to an eatery, this was a good stay for me.

The Blackstone, Autograph Collection

Let me first of all say that I was truly looking forward to stay at The Blackstone. I had saved all my points to put toward this stay and sadly it was ruined BEFORE I even got there! Days before my stay, I called to see if I could possibly upgrade. I spoke to Diana who was truly nice, helpful and professional. Unfortunately, it kind of went downhill froM there. The next day, I called back to confirm whether I needed to be present for the checkin. The call was answered by someone who from the beginning was very terse! When I tried to ask her if Diana was still available, she was unprofessional and unbelievably rude. So I did what any guess would’ve done in that case and that’s ask who I was speaking with. She immediately fired back “I’m not telling you my freaking name!” I was immediately taken aback and when I tried simply get a word in, she kept bluntly and blatantly interrupting and talking through me. After listening to her yell at me for minutes, I ask her for her name again and “click” the line goes dead. I called back and was put on hold. Finally I spoke to a manager named Earline. She was nice and apologetic. She informed me that the rude employee’s name was Shandjana. She was even nice enough to offer me an upgrade to a Lakeside View. I told her that if she was willing to honor that plus free breakfast, then we’re good! I ended the call happy and was looking forward to my stay again! The next day I called again because as I remembered I never got my answer for regarding whether I needed to checkin in person at a certain time. I usually use Hilton and I can check in via app so wasn’t sure about Marriott. In fact, truth be told, I had stopped staying at Marriott bc of their customer service (or lack thereof). When I called, I spoke to someone named Jacquiea. I explained to her the back story and she confirmed that my room was locked in and I wouldn’t lose it. However, when the convo came around to breakfast, she mentioned there were no notes for it on my stay. I explained to her that I talked to Earline and mentioned that it was one of my concessions for staying after my rude in encounter with Shadjana. She said she would talk to Earline and get back to me. I didn’t think too much of it. I figured Earline would confirm what her and I talked about and we’d be all squared away. Unfortunately, the situation sadly got even worse. Later that afternoon, I received an email from Jacquiea citing that she never promised me a complimentary breakfast and that I wasn’t getting one. Again, I was puzzled as I KNOW I mentioned that as one of my concessions, but perhaps she (Earline) simply didn’t remember and that perhaps there was a misunderstanding. I replied saying such and reiterating to them that the purpose of those concessions was to do damage-control for shandjana’s immature behavior. In fact, the hope was they would say “perhaps there was a misunderstanding between Earline and you, but given the unfortunate behavior of our staff, we’re willing t

Excellent. The hotel was clean and the staff went beyond for us. Unfortunately, my wife fell in the street about a block away from the hotel. One of the staff saw her fall. Came to help immediately, got us transportation to the hospital, let us keep our room well into the afternoon until my wife was taken care of Could not have been more wonderful. And other than that, the stay was excellent the the hotel was all we could ask for. Charming. Highly recommend it.

While attending a conference I was worried because there were no rooms at the conference location. I found Le Meridian Essex and booked my week there. I must say everything was phenomenal from the time I walked in and throughout my stay. Hotel staff were kind and more than willing to help. Taniya, Natasha and Jazzlynn at the front desk were always patient and friendly. Concierge was helpful and welcoming. The hotel provided a good voucher each day for the Grant Park Bistro where again the staff and quality were definitely 5 star! As for my room, it was clean and had many little amenities to make my stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for everything I have mentioned above as well as its beautiful convenient location.

The hotel is in a great location! Close to main attractions and lots of restaurants! Main staff was not very friendly. Hotel is beautiful when you enter. Rooms are very old and need updating. The toilet in my bathroom had a corroded tank and a broken lever. That was a bit frustrating. Bed was very hard!! Room was very cold! Only one thermostat for the entire hotel. There is no individual thermostat in each room. Had to ask for extra blankets. They did provide that for me. The fitness room is very nice! Every thing you need to have a really good workout! They indicated they are in the process of renovating rooms. They’ve just not completed that project yet. I would stay there again if the price was right. Hopefully next time I’ll get an updated room!

It's a good hotel for the price. Location is excellent with Museum Campus Metra station right in front and bus stations nearby. You can also walk to downtown. There are Walgreens stores and a Target store nearby so you can buy anything you might need. It was cold in winter but the heating was good. Radiator had some noise but ear plugs can easily solve the issue. Definitely a budget option. I was happy with it because it was a business trip.
