nice environment. Hygiene is very good. The front desk is a bit casual. In the morning, an old man was on duty at the front desk to collect keys without wearing work clothes, as if he was filling in for a second shift.

This hotel is a great close location to the ruins and we all loved cooling off in pool after visiting the ruins. The food at the restaurant was excellent too. It was affordable also and we were able to get a nice family room with multiple beds. I recommend it.

Super easy to get to Chichen Itzá from here. We rented a car from Cancun and drove to the ruins from the hotel. The pool was the perfect cool down after a morning in the heat. They have a nice breakfast buffet and an OK dinner package—easy for when you’ve traveled all day.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a small group touring the Yucatan Peninsula. It is well placed for visiting Chichan Itza just down the road. We had a nice room with all the usual facilities. They did a lovely breakfast and the evening meal proved to be a mexican delight. Nice and quiet, a good night's sleep was had.

Rooms are basic but fine for a single nights stay. Pool is very nice, like an oasis surrounded by trees and birds chirpping. It was very relaxing after a hot day. We were given the wrong time for the Kukulkan Nights light show at Chichen Itza and showed up an hour early. Wish we knew the correct time ahead of time (7pm entry, 8pm show and not 6pm entry 7pm show) because we would have done dinner before going. We ended up not having time and having to eat after, barely made it before the kitchen closed (at 8:45pm, not 10pm like the front desk said or 9:30 like a waiter had told us before we left). Despite these errors in comms, the front desk DID book us the most amazing guide.

Six people, three rooms, for two nights arrived Thursday 15 Feb. Hotel has what you need - clean and inexpensive rooms, good a/c, refreshing pool, onsite restaurant and bar, and easy access to Chichen Itza (the "back entrance" is still closed, but the front desk will call for a taxi - 100 pesos, about $6 each way, and you can easily get a taxi back from the Chichen Itza taxi stand) The restaurant had a varied menu and very good food - we ended up eating all our meals there. Prices for lunch/dinner are a bit on the high side, but a taxi into Piste would have reduced potential savings. There is a "meal plan" option that could have saved money, but we chose to order off the menu. The breakfast buffet is a bargain at about $11. I asked in advance to have the hotel arrange a guide for us for Chichen Itza. Mr. Bibiano was waiting promptly at 8am and we took two taxis over to the entrance. Bibi had already arranged for our six tickets so no waiting in the ticket line (have pesos for payment). There's no other way to put it - Bibi was a fantastic guide! After our morning at CI we took taxis back just as the hordes of tour busses were descending. We spent a leisurely afternoon at the pool sipping drinks and eating lunch, before heading back for the Night Show (I popped over in the afternoon to get those tickets in advance). The night show was amazing - only around 100 people and it feels like you have the place to yourself. Take note - Piste is in the Central time zone and Cancun is in Eastern so there is a 1hr difference.

Atmosphere! Character! Serenity! What a wonderful find after a long drive. Our room was small - my husband and I are willing to sleep in separate beds while traveling- but the bathroom was well set up and everything was clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and helpful and found us an amazing tour guide for Chichen-Itza.

We stayed here for one night. Our favorite part was relaxing by the pool. We did not eat here for any meals, but there was a large restaurant area. It was only a short drive (5-10 minutes) from Chichen Itzá, and it was a good price for the amenities and the location. We would say here again.

To have a good base for a visit to Chichen Itza last November, our tourcompany made a booking for us at the Villas Arqueologicas hotel near the park. Upon arrival, something appeared to be wrong with the payment of the reservation. Instead of helping us, the receptionist made no effort to help us on that issue. It is solely due to my wife's persistence that we became in touch with the hotelmanager. He gave us the benefit of the doubt. Ultimately, the next morning it turned out that the payment was in good order. Villas Arqueologicas is a beautiful, attractive hotel with beautiful, attractive rooms. The staff overall is unfriendly and disinterested. All in all not recommended. Joost en Marion
