The hotel stay itself was consistent with what I've come to expect from Premier Inn. A clean, tidy room, with a comfy bed, at a decent price. However, breakfast was another matter. Breakfast was chaos. We pre-paid for breakfast when we booked the room. We were told on check-in that the hotel was busy so we should book a table for breakfast. We did, for 9:30. We got there at 9:30, it took until 9:40 to get to the front of the queue, despite there only being two tables to seat in front of us, and us being able to see plenty of seating available. We were told that there was a 15-20 minute wait for cooked breakfasts. We waited, and finally placed our order at 10:00. We heard lots of other people complain that their breakfasts were being brought out incomplete, and that it had taken ages to receive them. Another table was getting up to leave as their breakfast arrived. At 10:45, we walked out, as we still hadn't received our breakfast. I asked the manager for a refund for the breakfasts we'd pre-paid for, and I was told we'd get one, but it could take several weeks as there was a backlog of refund requests! The staff we spoke to were all friendly and we felt were doing their best given the situation, but the breakfast service let the whole stay down. We ended up stopping at a motorway services for breakfast, where we were served immediately, and it was cheaper than Premier Inn's breakfast to boot!
