We fell in love with Ghoha Hills Savuti. Our flight to Maun didn’t land on time so we got to the lodge’s air***** a little later than expected. Our guide, Ran, explained that there wouldn’t be time for a game drive that afternoon after we settled in at the lodge, so he offered to take his time driving us to the lodge and show us some animals on the way. We saw lions, elephants, several types of antelopes, zebras, a jackal, hornbills and more just driving from the air***** to the lodge. The location is breathtaking, the rooms and views are amazing, and the staff is so attentive and kind. Not just making sure all your needs are taken care of, but genuinely warm and caring. The lodge is especially impressive because it runs on solar power. The food was delicious; morning tea and sundowners were served out on the game drives! Ran continued to deliver in terms of tracking the animals and getting us close to, but at a safe distance from, the animals. He was so knowledgeable about creatures from termites to elephants. I cannot imagine a better experience. We’re so grateful that our travel agent chose Ghoha Hills for us!

This Safari Camp needs to be closed and totally refurbished. The tents are partially in a poor condition, the tiny deck had only 3 pool chairs ( for potentially 22 guests). For game viewing the drive to the Marsh with animals took 2 hours and was exhausing.

We had such an incredible time here! Everything about our stay here felt so special. The accommodations were great, we loved our rooms and the views from the property. The pool was so refreshing and relaxing too. The food was absolutely the best out of the 4 Botswana Camps we stayed at, I was excited for every meal. Our guide Allen was the highlight of our Safari experience, he is so passionate about his career as a guide and shared so much with us about the animals, flora, etc. We were all so sad leaving him but grateful we got his as our guide during our stay. The choir was so fun to listen to as well. The game drives were jam packed with animal sightings, I could hardly believe how much we saw during our 2 night stay. I highly recommend staying here and am hoping to be back one day soon!

A beautiful camp on the Ghoha Hills which stand above the surrounding land and give wonderful bites onto the plains below. Watch pink sunrises from the luxury of your bed. The rooms are tents, but they are truly luxurious, with high quality sheets, mosquito nets, fully furnished and the most delightful bathroom and shower. The staff were all wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The guide we had was super knowledgeable and through him we found some really hard to find animals, such as honey badgers. Lions with cubs, elephants and buffalo all came to drink at the watering hole right by the lodge.

First safari ever! Magnificent time spent watching the animals at a respectful distance. Allen was so knowledgeable/ friendly and accommodating to all our questions. The staff: Doreen was a blessing / SG in the spa was fantastic/ especially after a day out in the sun and sitting in the jeep(which was extremely comfortable) a hot rock massage - wine and dinner was the perfect end to a day here!

In early October, we spent two nights at Ghoha Hills Lodge as self-drivers. The journey was adventurous, manageable with a 4WD and some experience. Ghoha Hills Lodge in Botswana exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The manager and the guides on the game drives demonstrated impressive professionalism and passion for wildlife. The accommodations were comfortable, the food was top-notch, and the breathtaking landscape completed an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for nature lovers and safari enthusiasts!

We lions on every day we were there - Males, females, cubs. We also saw them interact with other animals - Being chased by an elephant on one side , and eating a baby elephant on the other. My wife and I wernt on honeymoon to 3 places in Botswana (Chobe river front, Savuti, and Okavango). This was the place where we interacted with animals the closest although it was the most dry. We were able to see the hyena from very close which is not common. We also saw many animals of the likes of elephants, giraffes, sable antelopes. The lodge was not large yet it was cozy. We were able to make good use of the swimming pool (it was really hot) and the fire pit. We were also in close communication with key staff: the manager and our tour guide so they had everything very well prepared. The drinks we wanted and slightly adjusted eating schedule

We had a terrifying, disastrous stay at Ghoha Hills. Stay away. In short, thanks to their repeated complete lack of care, we spent hours stranded in the midday sun (35C+) in the middle of a national park, without a working radio. This could have ended very very badly. They don't take basic safety seriously. We booked a birthday weekend trip at Ghoha Hills and had the hotel organize transfers, supposedly 3 hours each way by jeep from Kasane (at US$1,000 round/trip), which they contract with Flame of Africa in Kasane. On the way out, our jeep broke down 30 minutes in - after about an hour's wait, the jeep was replaced by another one, which broke down as well and was thankfully jump started by a passing vehicle on the way (luckily the other vehicle had starting cables, ours didn't). Its radio didn't work. Imagine our surprise when that same vehicle came to pick us up two days later for the return journey. Of course this vehicle broke down in the middle of a dirt road in the national park, in the midday heat, infested by sand gnats. We obviously couldn't go anywhere to hide because of the danger of animals - an elephant walked by and luckily was uninterested in us. Thank GOD we had a single bar of service on our phone so we could call for help - the radio of course still didn't work. We could have been genuinely stranded. Not a single other vehicle passed us going to Kasane in three hours. We missed our connection and pre-booked Chobe River safari. Flame of Africa offered to bring us to our hotel on the Namibian side, but sure enough their boat broke down as well, leaving us stranded in the ****s surrounded by hippos and elephants on the riverbank (I wish I was making this up, but if it weren't all so dangerous, it'd be farcical). After our stay, we received no apology, no note, no explanation. After I then reached out, all Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge offered was $250 off the $1,000 transfer cost. It's fair enough to expect the unexpected when traveling on dirt roads in remote areas with limited infrastructure - things happen. But the complete lack of preparation or ownership of cascading, avoidable problems was shocking, and I've never experienced anything like this in decades of traveling, especially not at this price level. And if all of the above isn't disqualifying, please also consider staying closer to the Chobe River for safari reasons. The landscape around Ghoha Hills is very dry and our game viewing was poor (in April). Over 12 hours of game drives, we saw zero cats (there aren't any resident lions in this area), mostly impala, some elephants, a few ostriches and plenty of giraffe. Please also don't believe their website as they don't offer visits to the baobab grove or the cave paintings (supposedly because of "safety", yeah right) on their day-long excursion, despite advertising it. We saw more wildlife in a single hour on the river than in three days at Ghoha Hill Savuti Lodge. On our 10-day safari trip, this was the most expensive a

Spent a lovely 3 nights here. The lodge sits high on the hills and offers sweeping views across Chobe National Park. Rooms are spacious, super comfortable beds, plenty of hot water. No AC, but good fans and nights were comfortable. The spa services were outstanding and SG has magic hands. Meals are superb and the lodge staff attentive and friendly. Ask for something and bam, it’s there. Lodge Manager TAnbo and his team make you feel at home the moment you arrive. Game drives are in Chobe National Park, which can mean your Guide has to contend with other vehicles and people that don’t always follow the rules. Tan did a fantastic job of doing just that and delivering some truly remarkable moments. I enjoyed my time here and highly recommend it.
