Licheng Junton Hotel (Lanxin Avenue Branch of Chongqing Jiangbei Airport)

I booked a twin room at a special rate in advance for Chinese New Year. The hotel front desk saw I had two kids with me and thoughtfully upgraded us to a triple room for free. The soundproofing in the room wasn't great, and the hot water was a bit cool. Breakfast included noodles, which was nice. Parking was quite convenient; there are about a dozen surface parking spots in front of the hotel, but I wouldn't recommend them. Instead, navigate to 'Shang Liang Chu Hotpot' and take the通道 next to it down to the underground garage. There are no reserved private parking spots down there, so it's easy to find a place to park. We extended our stay for another night, but I couldn't book a twin room on Trip.com for the second day, so I booked a business twin room instead. We didn't switch rooms. When we checked out, they even gave us some snacks and a teacup.

The location is great, and they even upgraded my room for free. The airport shuttle service was convenient, and the breakfast buffet was rich and varied. It's a great choice, I'd definitely stay here again next time.

I got off the plane in the early morning. This hotel is close to the airport and offers airport pickup. I'll go to the sea-view hotel in Jiefangbei during the day. The hotel environment is quite nice, the receptionist is very friendly, and there's breakfast available. The breakfast selection is plentiful, and the lady making noodles is also very nice; her noodles are delicious 😋

Since I had an early flight the next day, my top priorities for choosing accommodation were proximity to the airport and shuttle service. Since I was only staying one night, I wasn't too particular about amenities. However, the cleanliness of cheap accommodation near the airport was quite questionable, especially the bathrooms, which looked like they were from before the Liberation Movement and made me feel uncomfortable. After searching around, I found this one with a toilet that looked quite new, so I chose it. The special offer room I chose had no windows. There was a light and ventilation shaft, but it didn't feel very airy. There was a pile of rubble inside, and I stuck my phone in to take a picture. There didn't seem to be a skylight (?), which was quite scary, so I closed it after seeing it. One problem was the terrible internet connection. I tried everything I could think of. I could only get a slight signal by the window in the hallway, and I could only connect to my eSIM in the lobby. Basically, the only connection I had was to the hotel's internet. And the internet here is limited to within the walls, so if you're visiting from out of town and need to use external communication software, you might want to consider it. The TV here is pretty good. While many of the shows are probably popular in mainland China, there are some relatively newer ones like Hello World and League of Villains. Besides cartoons, there's also news and movies. As for cleanliness, perhaps because there are no windows, the room smells musty, and the bedding doesn't feel particularly clean. Sleeping directly under it can cause itching. However, I've slept in airports and even worse places, so this isn't a big deal. I just wear long sleeves that don't mind getting dirty, and a blanket that won't catch a cold. Finally, I have to mention the airport pickup service. Both the pick-up and drop-off were super punctual, and they dropped me right in front of the terminal. If you're also on a flight, staying here for a night wouldn't be a bad idea. (I only recorded a video at the time, so I'm using screenshots to show you what it looked like. It's basically the same as the official photos, just not as new and bright.)

The room was clean and tidy, the location was convenient, and there were plenty of restaurants and amenities nearby. The breakfast noodles were delicious! They also offered airport shuttle service! They upgraded my room for free. A very nice hotel! I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time I'm in Chongqing. Cleanliness: Clean, tidy, and comfortable.
