Walling Hotel (Hongya Cave ，Chongqing Great Hall)

Clean, Modern Rooms with a Convenient Location Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms were relatively new, clean, and well-maintained. We booked two different room types, but the hotel was still able to arrange rooms next to each other, which we really appreciated. Housekeeping was provided daily, and the rooms were kept clean throughout our stay. Although most of the staff couldn’t communicate in English, it wasn’t an issue at all. Using a translation app worked perfectly fine. The hotel also offers a WeChat service that allows guests to contact the staff directly without having to call the front desk, which was very convenient. The hotel is a little far from the main tourist attractions, but the area is quiet and peaceful. There’s a metro station right in front of the hotel, making it easy to get around the city. There’s also a convenience store downstairs, which is a nice bonus. Breakfast offered a decent variety of options, with enough choices to start the day. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, modern, and peaceful place to stay with easy access to public transportation.

We booked the Family Suite for 3 guests. Overall, the hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive. I requested a few extra pillows late at night, and the staff attended to my request promptly. The hotel manager was also PARTICULARLY friendly and receptive to feedback and polite, which I appreciated. The main downside for us was the location. The hotel is situated along a busy road leading towards the highway, and there isn’t an obvious area for taxis to stop or pick up/drop off guests. The signage could also be improved, as the hotel is located on Level 4 of a building and the signage was not very prominent, which made it somewhat difficult for us to locate the hotel initially (our didi driver could not find the hotel and had to make us alight at the busy highway - which we found it extremely unpleasant and dangerous). There also isn’t much around the hotel, apart from a Luckin Coffee and a few minimarts, so the location may not be the most convenient for travellers who prefer to have restaurants, shops, or attractions within walking distance. For international travellers, the building and hotel layout may also take some getting used to. The reception is on Level 4, while the guest rooms are located on Level 15 and above. We initially felt that the security arrangements were not as obvious as we were accustomed to, as an access card did not appear to be required to access the guest room floors. There is a glass panel requiring guests to tap for entry, but the overall security setup was not immediately clear to us. That said, the hotel manager was very understanding when I raised these concerns. He explained that the hotel has security personnel patrolling the premises every night and assured me that guest safety is taken seriously. I appreciated his willingness to listen and address our concerns. I commend the hotel manager for his attitude and acknowledge that the problems i encounter are specifically targeted to the hotel and is not a reflection of the staffs working abilities there. Overall, the staffs were a definite positive, especially the manager, who was professional, friendly, and receptive to feedback. However, for us, the location and surrounding area were the main drawbacks.

Cleanliness is superb. It has great facilities such as a gym and washing machine and massage chair. However, the dryer has issues very often as even after 2-3 times drying, the clothes are still not dried. The staff was very nice and was willing to help whenever any issue arose. I encountered an issue after I extended my stay as I was not informed that I needed to go to the counter to renew my card. So I was locked out of my room for a moment. Location wise is average. Quite far from scenic area and requires taxi to go from one place to another tourist destination.

We had a wonderful 9 nights stay. All the staff are very helpful and very friendly. The road has a nice view and is very clean. Breakfast has lots to choose from. The hotel location is on the quieter side which is perfect for us. The metro station is about 8mins walk and you can reach the main sightseeing spot very easily. No problem for the didi driver to find us. There's 2 mini supermarket one in the building and one next to it both open till 10pm. Of cos food delivery is easy too. 😀 I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family if you prefer to stay in a quieter area.
