Beautiful and great location, near a lot of great sites to visit. A very warm and welcoming homely energy. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. English and Spanish were spoken by some of the staff during my visit which was just great. Breakfast was very good (and well organized) and we also ate dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and all of it was top notch and very delicious. Cleanliness gets an A+ as well. My niece and I truly enjoyed staying there and I would definitely book there again if I were back in the area. Thank you!

We booked a week in this facility. What to say ... was all spectacular! The beautiful, wide room (although it would need a new renovated) and above all very clean. Breakfast really good: wonderful cakes, different mornings, salty cakes, sauces and cheese with hot bread, pancakes ( sofas, which my husband loved). The small but very beautiful pool, we used it some afternoon to look for a little cold. The pool fabrics are provided by the facility. Very comfortable and available staff: we felt really cockooted (especially a couple of Campania staff boys with whom we often stopped talking, and who sometimes advised us). All really very nice, it's a pity that the holiday is over ... Compliments for this nice reality, made especially by young people, and we hope to come back soon!

But oh the happy memories from that 24 hour period. Other 5* resorts should have Castello Banfi mentor them. I reviewed the Michelin 1* restaurant La Sala dei Grappoli, Ristorante La Taverna, and the m Enoteca (Excellence Tour) separately, but each segment adds up to an experience not to be missed. Granted , all together it was not a cheap experience but so well worth it and in my mind excellent value for money. This is an ideal location for celebrations, honeymoons or just a quiet getaway from the stress of modern life (my adventure was the latter). If you only had one day to enjoy the Tuscan countryside and wine region, Castello Banfi would be your destination.

Wow! Where do we begin... This was our 3rd time staying in Montalcino, but only our first time staying at Dimore della Muse, and we are so happy that we did. We wish that we discovered Dimore della Muse sooner. Not only was this our best stay ever in Montalcino, this was our favorite hotel/B&B that we have ever stood at anywhere in the world.  From the moment we booked our reservation online, we knew that we had made the right decision. After booking our reservation, Sara and Michele, the husband and wife team who own Dimore delle Muse emailed us almost immediately to confirm our booking, thank us for choosing to stay here, and provided an extensive list of things to do and see in the area while visiting Montalcino. This was not your typical automated booking confirmation email that most hotels send out. This was highly personalized, and was most definitely not an automated email. The suggestions were not your typical suggestions that you would find in a brochure or by doing a quick Google search online, they were a well thought out, personalized and diverse list of activities that offered something for everyone. It included restaurants, wineries, beautiful towns to visit and sites to see, some of which are very close by and some of which made for a beautiful short road trip about 45 minutes away. All of their recommendations were outstanding, well thought out, and carefully curated based on their personal experiences. These suggestions kept us more than occupied and very happy throughout our stay there. We are so grateful and appreciative that they provided us with this, and we had not even arrived in Montalcino yet! :) Once we arrived in Sant'Angelo in Colle, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes, as if we were friends who had not seen each other in a long time, despite the fact this was our first time meeting. Our bags were extremely heavy, and we had several of them as we were traveling from Piemonte prior and had packed a fair share of wine to bring back home to NY with us. Despite the quantity of bags and their weight, Michele insisted on carrying our bags inside and simply would not take no for an answer. This was far too generous, especially considering there were a good amount of steps that they had to be carried up.  After unloading our bags, Sara and Michele gave us a tour of their beautiful hotel. The hotel opened around 4 years ago, and was completely renovated at that time. The renovations are absolutely gorgeous. They retained the building's beautiful identity inside and out, tastefully applied some modern touches, and created what we believe to be a magnificent, gorgeous retreat in the beautiful little town of Sant'Angelo in Colle. If you search TripAdvisor for Saturnia, you will see several different ”properties”. And that's because there are. I would have thought that there were these hot springs with a resort built around it, but that is sort of the case and sort of not. In reality, the Saturnia hot springs have THREE different ”properties” all somewhat connected and all somewhat (confusingly) distinct. Here is my guide to them: PROPERTIES - 1. Saturnia Tuscany Hotel Resort 2. Saturnia Parco Thermal 3. Saturnal Thermal Springs PRICING - 1. Saturnia Tuscany Hotel Resort - pricey 2. Saturnia Parco Thermal - middle market 3. Saturnal Thermal Springs - FREE POOLS 1. Saturnia Tuscany Hotel Resort - Big swimming pool fed by original spring, with a natural (small rocks) bottom. Protected seating area around it. 2. Saturnia Parco Thermal - Multiple pools including an indoor one and one for children as well as a saune. All outdoors with no real protected seating. 3. Saturnal Thermal Springs - The Insta-iconic original. A public beach like place. Shallow, rocky and crowded. The Resort and the Parco are physically connected to each other and share a spa (with very weak massage treatments...no pressure, just slathering oil on you), but they are different commercial entities. So if you want a day in the ”thermal” (well, tepid) pools with ”magic algae”, then you have two choose between a package by one of these two different (but connected properties). Neither of these places are that near to the original and famous springs themselves (those are about a half mile drive down the road). In short, we don't regret visiting Saturnia. It was a good excuse and base from which to visit a bunch of lovely surrounding Tuscany sites (Pitigliano, Sovana, Montemerano), and we enjoyed playing a round of golf amidst the Tuscany countryside scenery (and the course is dog-friendly, so they get bonus points for that). But if you want to make a trip for some hot springs in Europe, Iceland and the Azores are miles better.
