Normandie Hotel

The NOISIEST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. You can hear all residents coming and going and every step they take! Such a creaky old hotel. Didn’t feel very safe with the tiny door lock (as a single female business resident). The bed was thin and uncomfy. The plug sockets are on the other side of the room. The shower was tiny too. Would never stay again and do not recommend.

It almost took an hour to check in. There wasn’t a receptionist (there wasn’t the Hole trip). We’d to call a number, and eventually we could check in. The cleaning standard wasn’t good enough either, and it was incredible dusty. The worst part was the bathroom, as the toilet couldn’t flush and the shower was boiling hot, and the tap to the cold water was broke. Next day we tried to get a new room, but because there wasn’t a person in the reception, we’d to call. Eventually we got trough, but it was difficult communication. On New Years Day (our third day), we contacted their cleaning lady, and she was the only helpful person, and we got a new room in the basement for our last night. I can’t recommend this hotel whatsoever. When we tried to check-in, we went to another hotel, and they said ‘there’s always problems at Normandie Hotel’. I’ve stayed at other budget hotels in London, but never expected anything like that. Abysmal!

The hotel is terrible: in the bathroom is impossibleto use the shower because there is not hot water. The room is very cold because the radiator does not work. At reception there is never someone who can help you if you need something or you want to ask an information. This is really a bad hotel, only the position is good for the nearness of the underground.

I didn’t get in to stay as they lock their doors at 10pm. They hide this rule behind some link. Why isnt it upfront. All I can hope is that I get my money back - which they took two days before the stay!!!

Only provided portable electric heater which is not enough to heat the room at -2degrees. We tried asking for another heater but reception was closed at night. Woke up with staffs talking loudly in the hallway. Water in the shower is either too cold or boiling hot. Was told they have luggage service only to find out luggage should be collected at 1:30pm or else at 10pm as there will be no staff available in the reception.

Don't stay here. They should have their hotel license revoked and get reissued a new one for fraud. No reception. Nowhere to sit in the room. No heating. Bathroom sink blocked. Bathroom an ice cave. Moldy shower. I remember now why I only book first night on ******* never two nights unless I know the property already. I stayed in a great place on Sussex Gardens in September; their neighbours are running lovely hotels. Why can't they. Disgusting. Avoid at all costs.

Hotel was fine for a budget hotel. What was disappointing was the wifi. Almost no signal and when there was it was ery slow.

Wanted a break away from the hustle and bustle of a hectic week at work with my husband, came across this hotel via *******, read the reviews some negative some positive, even the price was right. However I did not expect a cold shower!! Water was cold and when we tried to brave overselves to have a shower the shower tray filled up with water within minutes, this was due to the plug hole being slightly blocked. When we went out that night, there was no one to tell, so my husband said just leave it as we are only here for 2 nights. The only 2 things that were good was location and the beds were comfortable.
