Modern hotel which is easy to find if arriving by car on the edge of the city. Plenty of car parking Nice outside area to enjoy a drink or meal A good breakfast It’s a €15 ride into city centre Front desk were ok on check in - not exactly welcoming and all a bit robotic Typical business hotel with banging doors starting at around 7am The shower towels are the size of large hand towels which is always a disappointment when staying at a hotel The bar/eating area smells very strongly of cooking/frying in the evening which means that the kitchen needs better ventilation Not a bad stay but just a very modern faceless hotel

We had been to a family christening at Tully Cross where we had spent two nights. Having stopped and had lunch in Galway a few months before the outbreak of covid we had decided that we would like to have a stop over the next time we passed through and as we were to pick up and later drop off a hire car it was ideal. We made the booking at the Skeffington Arms online a couple of months before. From arriving on the Monday to leaving on the Wednesday we were made to feel very welcome. The location was ideal for us being very central and within walking distance of the coach station for our return journey to Dublin Airport. Our room was a very good size and with the weather we were experiencing the air conditioning in our was most welcome. From our arrival to our departure the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We would have liked to have stayed longer but due to work commitments this wasn't possible. It's always difficult to tell online when researching hotels if it's a good location, good service, etc. The location is hard to beat as it's right where the action is. The music does seem to go late every night (not just the weekends) so if you have a room facing the front, keep that in consideration if you're a light sleeper. Service was ok, there was a day where our room was missed so we had to inform the front desk. The front desk was very helpful. The room size was quite good for us. I would definitely recommend.

I write this review at the risk of not being able to get a room the next time I’m in Galway! The rooms are small and this seems to be the biggest criticism but they are not that small and more than enough space for a couple. We were easily able to open two large suitcases without being inconvenienced in walking around the room. The room itself was immaculately clean and the bedding and bathroom which was actually surprisingly big as good as you get in many 4.5 star hotels. I’m pleased to recommend The Lane Hotel for couples travelling. You won’t get anywhere better for the price or location in all of Ireland. Let me give a huge shout out of appreciation for the beautiful man in reception. PS: be sure to book early for one of only three parking spots.

I stayed here for work so needed a comfortable, safe and central hotel. Although the room really is very snug, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was modern and clean and the WiFi was pretty fast. I think the Townhouse is really geared to people who just need a base and are looking to be out experiencing the lively Galway atmosphere and nightlife, it’s positioned on a very busy street so is noisy into the night (the hotel provides earplugs) so I’d be more likely to recommend it to my children than my mum (there’s no space for a chair in the room) Staff were lovely and helpful.

The deciding factor in choosing this hotel is free parking. Facts have proved to be very wise. What is surprising is that the hotel facilities are very sophisticated and the breakfast is delicious, especially the smoked salmon. About 30 minutes walk to the town, the hotel reception lady is beautiful and enthusiastic, and helped us book a 2017 Michelin restaurant to eat raw oysters. It was great, and it would be difficult to eat without a reservation.

Staff were very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was excellent. Bar decor lovely.location is right in the heart of the city. Loads of pubs, bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend Eyre Square and a stay in the Victoria Hotel.

Breakfast line up, buffet, line up for a few minutes, some food lined up after entering ~ experience is not good. The location and surroundings are beautiful and not to be said. There is free parking.

Myself and my wife stayed stayed in your lovely Hotel on the 15th September for one night and we would like to compliment you on a truly wonderful experience, the front desk staff were perfect, very welcoming and helpful the room was delightful with a lovely view of the gardens and was a great place to relax. The restaurant had an excellent menu and the staff couldn’t be more helpful so overall it is a great hotel and I look forward to staying again

I really wanted to rate this hotel a little higher, perhaps 3.5 stars. The PROS: 1. Great location, not far from the bus and train stations and an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and pubs. 2. The hotel itself has a nice pub; a great place to stop in for a drink or snack, with an Irish band certain days of the week. A shout out to Zed and Tina at the bar. 3. Our room was spacious and clean. CONS: 1. The hotel is a little worn around the edges, and the beds and pillows were not all that comfortable for us. I heard that renovations are in the works to expand the reception area and hopefully the rooms will be renovated as well. 2. Housekeeping was inconsistent. One day we did not get new coffee packets and cream; another day the dirty glasses and coffee cups were not taken away and replaced by new ones. We realize that these things happen, but when we took our dirty dishes to reception there was no apology or offer to fix the problem and in fact we were given a lame excuse along the lines of ‘maybe housekeeping thought we wanted to keep the used cups” (with dried coffe in them?) and we were told to carry our dirty cups and glasses to the bar and get new ones from them ourselves. In fact, the hotel seemed to be staffed mainly with young inexperienced people who definitely could use more training in the area of customer service. We had some other issues with service and for this reason the rating cannot be a 4. I’m not sure I would stay again, unless changes are made.
