Loved this hotel and it is very well located. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a balcony. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. It is walkable to stores, bus stop, restaurants, and the beach and ferry station. Service was excellent with yummy and varied breakfast buffet. We sent out a bag of laundry which was not crazy expensive for area and had a same day turn around. Definitely recommend. Great views from the balcony.

We had a great stay in this beautiful hotel. They organized our luggage transportation in a parking where the transfer left us since the hotel is in a pedestrian area. In the hotel, Leonardo welcomed us and all receptionists were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very beautiful in a classic old building well maintained with pool and gardens. The restaurant and bar areas are very beautiful. Breakfast was good with a great variety of home-made cakes and breads local delicacies, fresh fruits, cold cuts and cheeses. Orange fresh squeezed juice was available. Vegetal milk (oat, soy) was available. Coffee was very good. Breakfast team was really nice and professional. Concierge service was very nice, before our arrival we’ve booked a private boat tour which was very professional. They came to pick us up and guided us to their dock. Room facilities: very nice room with comfortable pillows and linen. For the hairdryer I suggest to get a more powerful one because the one in the room is not enough for women. Pool bar: A special thanks to Antonio that made us feel like home. Lounge bar: A great choice of wines and cocktails, nice music and great snacks. Really recommend this hotel. They also have a beautiful one called Miramare with a great sea view. We’ll come back for sure. Highly recommended.

Seven of us from Canada thought this B and B was fantastic, amazing view, the grounds are well groomed. Our hosts Ana and Felix were so awesome, friendly, provided great service and very helpful. There were lots of great options for breakfast. The rooms were great, they have a mini bars, a nice little sitting area in front of the rooms that provided a beautiful view of the ocean, also, a sitting area where you can buy drinks at their bar. It was just a short walk into the main area where there was lots of shopping and restaurants. I would highly recommend this B and B for your next vacation stay.

I only gave this hotel an average review because I expected a little better service for $1200 per night. My first complaint is the pool service. The bartender and the pool attendant were not inclined to clean up used plastic glasses and dishes left behind by people who left them by their poolside table. The bartender with the big black eyeglasses also had a bit of a distasteful attitude. I reported him to management, but management never contacted me to discuss what I thought was a bit of an attitude. The umbrellas by the pool need to be able to tilt because there are times in the afternoon when you cannot have shade due to the sun's location. Finally, my room was clean, but the floor could have been cleaned more thoroughly. Again, for $1200 per night, I expect impeccable service. I would return, but the hotel could improve the service level—one last thing. At lunch, my wife ordered a salad with shrimp added. When she was served a salad with chicken added, the server joked, ”We will fire the chef.” Again, I appreciate humor, but on the other hand, I expect top-level service for $1200 per night!

Book it! Tip: Call the hotel directly. The price when we called and inquired was lower than what was shown on 3rd party sites. The staff is excellent. I repeat -they were excellent! It rivals the best hotels in the world for its elevated service. We loved the location, and if you want an excellent view with impeccable service for dining, Il Tridente, located on the pool level deck will not disappoint . In Positano, many restaurants are on the road with cars driving by. Hotel Poseidon provides an opportunity to dine above the noise of the street; far better than other options. I traveled with my 22year old son, and we both agreed it was the best meal we had from Rome to Sorrento and everywhere in between. Our room had a huge patio balcony with two lounge chairs and a bistro table. The stroll down to the beach is easy, and the stone steps down to the beach are close by if you prefer that. The hotel is positioned on the cliffs for the morning sunrise with your coffee. It is perfect, and has the charm and elegance you want in such a historic seaside town. We drove, and they made parking easy (we just pulled up and they took care of it). If you know about driving along the Amalfi coast, you know it isn’t easy and parking is a nightmare. Hotel Poseidon made it easy. We really loved it and would have stayed longer if we weren’t locked into reservations in another town the next few days. I will be back!

Lovely hotel, helpful staff but the best part of all was the view from our room - absolutely beautiful. Pool and beach area was nice. Funicular was appreciated. Location good, away from the hustle and bustle but just a short ride into the main town. Whilst we would stay here again, and would recommend, I wouldn’t rate it 5/5 as it didn’t feel like pure luxury. Great, but not luxury.

We have stayed at wonderful hotels around the world, and the service at HSP is top tier. Every five star hotel should aspire to reach this level of service. We unfortunately were only able to stay two nights due to the hotel being full, and left for a competitor hotel for another few nights. While they are both considered ”five star”, it was like going from a Rolls Royce to an Audi. Yes, the other hotel was still beautiful and high quality, but the amenities, staff, friendliness and attention to detail are unparalleled here. Specifically, the boat guide Salvatore, our driver Alfredo, the patio manager Serafina, Carlino server Letitzia, and other staff members like Alessandro were incredible. The only aspect of this hotel we did not absolutely love was the air of ”stuffiness” from many guests. Of course, this is not the hotel's fault and it is to be expected when a Negroni costs 24 euros at the bar, but the ”Karen” energy from many of our fellow Americans was a bit beyond our tastes. Nevertheless, HSP is a special hotel that warrants a return visit. We hope to make our yearly escape here as it is truly paradise.

There are some really wonderful things about this hotel but some improvements could be made to make the stay more comfortable. The good stuff - the views from the complimentary breakfast (and we had dinner at the restaurant too which I would recommend) are incredible. Check-in went smoothly and we were offered a welcome drink. Paolo at the front desk was incredibly helpful on several occasions - he spent extra time with us to help us navigate our way to the Path of the Gods hike and gave us some great recommendations for our trip to Amalfi/Ravello and for dinner in Positano. He definitely made us feel welcome. The beach club is one of the reasons we chose this hotel and it is very convenient to not to have to leave the property and make reservations/ pay for a beach club. Also, their chairs area is basically sharing space with one of the nicest beach clubs in Positano, so that is a plus. Be warned though that is about 250 steps down (and then of course back up) to the beach and not much they can do about that, but it can be quite exhausting even if you are in really good shape! The areas for improvement - our room did not get cool enough - the air struggled to get below 22.5 degrees, and our refrigerator did not work. We asked for ice a few times for our water/wine and it either took a really long time to come, or on one occasion was never delivered. The standard room was pretty small and there was no drawer space / shower was tiny and views minimal so I would probably upgrade next time. Lastly, we were only at the hotel for 2.5 days and had one afternoon planned to spend a decent amount of time at the beach club. We didn't learn until it was time to go down that the space had been rented out for a wedding and was not available that day. The pool guy told us when we were on our way down - no other notification prior to that. They did set us up with chairs/towel at the beach area on Spiagga Grande next to the hotel but there was no food/drink service available over there and it was inconvenient to say the least and not as nice as the hotel's space, so that was disappointing given we picked this hotel for their private beach.

We loved The Royal Hotel Positano. Situated on the side of a cliff, the views were nothing short of spectacular. The hotel was easy to find and onsite parking was a plus! They helped with getting our luggage from the car to our room and then back to our car, which was very nice, as it might have been challenging with the stairs. There were stairs to get to the main lobby from the parking area, but there are stairs EVERYWHERE in Positano. Our room was very clean. There was daily housekeeping. The bathroom was updated and had a rain shower head that was very nice. Having breakfast every morning included with the room, was a nice perk. The breakfast was a typical European style breakfast of meat, cheese, pastry, yogurt, coffee and juice. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
