My college roommate and I stayed with John during the Belmont Stakes race weekend in Saratoga Springs (about 20 minutes north). John's Inn is super cozy and cool and chock full of interesting art and do dads (like a museum). The outdoor area is super well tended, with flowers and more art. Being the oasis that it is, chipmunks and rabbits and birds run / fly around his back patio / seating area. The bedroom we booked, had two twin beds that were super comfortable and the best pillows that I've had anywhere (feather pillows that were not too stuffed or empty). I slept like a baby both nights. Shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. John's breakfast was spectacular (he varied it from day to day and each day was better than the last). You can sit outside on his patio, which we did, but one day we just sat around the island in his kitchen and ate with John and the other guests, while John cooked and we all chatted. Felt like home. His super chill, very sweet dogs (two rescue greyhounds) hung out and minded their own business but did enjoy being patted as well. John is an extremely gracious host and you will be very happy if you take my advice and give The Garden Farm Inn a try. Cheers and thanks for a fine weekend John. A huge shout out to the GM (Andy) for going above and beyond. Looks like I need to write more to post the review so…. Have stayed here a few times. Rooms clean- I suggest river view if possible. Close to restaurants/bars. Check in was a breeze the woman who serviced us at bar one night was a delight. This is our go to place when in the area.

This hotel is probably one of the better hotels in Troy and it is also close to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The hotel's front desk is on the 3rd floor and requires an elevator. The rooms are large, the sanitary condition is good, the design facilities are also very useful, the parking lot is large, and the parking is convenient. Since the hotel is along the road, the noise is a bit loud and it is the only bad place.

We visited Troy for a wedding and stayed at the Best Western Plus across from the venue. The location was convenient, all of the associates we interacted with were professional, patient and friendly. Shout out to Tyrese, and to the associate who was wearing the CD belt during our check in for all the great recommendations, and for accommodating our request to check in early. We recommend upgrading to a room that has been updated. Those are modern and cozy.

The mansion was truly a “home away from home” with comfortable beds and amenities! Tina, the owner, is a wonderful host and cooks the best breakfast meals and offers a variety of snacks that one can access 24/7! There’s no check-in or check-out time and we got our own designated parking spot and designated bathroom! She’s also an excellent conversationalist and we learned a lot from her from the mansion’s history, the city of Troy, places to visit, and even vacation destinations and tips! The house doesn’t have the luxuries that hotel chains offer but the old charm and exquisite architectural and historical details of the old mansion PLUS the wonderful service Tina offers surely exceeded our expectations! We are actually planning on staying there again this coming weekend with our children this time! - Rufino and Lizza

We are from the UK on a road trip . Booked this hotel on the last minute . It was very reasonable , we didn’t expect much . Well we were pleasantly surprised . Lovely staff ,we got upgraded to a spa room , amazing big room with all amenities we needed . Clean and comfortable. Free breakfast as well . Definitely would stay here again .

When I booked the room, I asked it as shown on the site( no tapes), as by chance there was more !! Clean room but very noisy environment. 2 families with several children very noisy in the corridor that are crazyly sweating from others. Even after warning at the reception, no change. Very noisy even at the end of the evening. A mother and a child near the pool who cried this morning at 6.30, near the rooms. The hotel is very comfortable and it is very comfortable and very comfortable. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends traveling to the United States. It seems to me a hotel for families and not for travelers who want to sleep peacefully!

The room is super large, two large beds of one meter and five, breakfast is also very rich, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs taste good. Bread, yoghurt and cakes come in a wide variety. Oatmeal is also quite suitable for the taste of the oriental.

Two adults had a very nice stay for three nights at this hotel in a king room. Very clean. Nice furniture. Staff was very accommodating, There were large and fluffy bath towels in the bathroom. Very nice lighting in the room also. Really large breakfast area. Breakfast was very good consisting of real scrambled eggs and sausage patties one morning and fried eggs, bacon and pancakes the next, along with the usual fruit, yogurt, pastries, english muffins, bagels, bread, waffles, etc. Definitely on the better side for this price range of hotel. There is a large indoor pool and gym. It does have daily room housekeeping service unlike many other hotels now. Would stay here again. Note this is a large hotel and the elevators are located a bit of a walk from the lobby area. Several gas stations within a mile or so of the hotel. A Walmart is about 10 minutes away. There are two highly rated Trip Advisor diners within about a 5 to 10 minute drive, depending on traffic. We ate at “Diner Time” and thoroughly enjoyed it.
