The hotel is in a good location quiet and clean. The staffs are reliable respectful and always helpful. I do not have any problem at all. I will visit again.

The room is cold, the beds creek, you can feel every spring in the mattress, the screws hanging out bed rails, the toilet roll holder is falling off, the toilet seat isn’t on probably, the toilet flush is stiff, stains on the carpet, holes in the ceiling with dirty marks, other marks on the walls, the knobs on the bed come off with sharp bits. Also right outside main police station blue lights and sirens all night. The breakfast is a 5 minute walk into town and it’s a very basic breakfast, not really a choice for children. We got this break from family fund because my children have special needs. It was meant to be a break to help us as a family to relax, but this has been more stressful than being at home. In the 80’s I was homeless for a little while and it reminds me of a DSS hotel in Nottinghamshire. I was unfortunate enough to be staying in. The noise in the hotel was shocking as there are paper thin walls. We were meant to stay 4 nights and left after 2. Please avoid this hotel. It needs refurbishing without a shadow of a doubt.

No heating and cheap duvet = freezing cold unable to sleep. No bedside table or bedside light. No seating or "work/eating desk". Small sink in bathroom too small to fill kettle, no plug in sink. Only one light switch in the room (by the entry door). Good mood lighting but got the impression that hourly rates might be available! Didn't stay for breakfast .....

After a mix up with dates, another one ‘booked’ with *******, but on arrival there was no room! I desperately needed a room for myself and my elderly mother. Saturday 13th August was hot and there was a carnival, Clacton was packed. All hotels were fully booked. It was either this or sleeping in the car! I had seen this earlier in the day on ***********, asking for £270!!! I therefore thought it was a top hotel. Due to the circumstances I didn’t have time to read reviews, look at facilities/amenities etc. All of which I do usually. I called and the gentleman said there was one room left but I’d have to come quick. This was already nearly 8pm. I asked to see the room - it wasn’t great but what is one to do. He wanted £150! I was shocked and he said I could have it for £130 in cash. I couldn’t let mum sleep in the car. You could hardly sit on toilet as small sink unit was in way. Difficult for my mum who is frail. There were/dirty marks on bathroom door, I didn’t want to look too closely. Tbh - I have stayed in cleaner hostels! One side of bed was against a wall, so I had to crawl in and out. Pulling the curtains at bedtime……. I thought they were about to disintegrate. They were=disgusting. The carpet was dirty. It was truly awful. It didn’t look promising upon arrival really but I had no other options. On entering this establishment it stank of curry, a man was sat on sofa opposite door, can of beer in hand. To get to the room, we had to walk through a dim corridor, past an area where presumably the owners sat, chatted and ate. I have no idea but it was grim! The door of the room DID NOT EVEN BLOODY CLOSE! We realised as we were changing and it suddenly swung open!! I had to lock my mother inside the room while I got bags from the car! Ridiculous. It wouldn’t even meet 2star standard. I simply cannot believe that such an establishment can trade legally for crying out loud. They/should be ashamed for having people there. Truly awful. The bed and pillow very uncomfortable and all night long a cacophony of seagulls, computer noises, people chatting. Paper thin walls.

Very rude and unprofessional on the phone. The money for the room for 12 hours 22:00 to 10:30 was not worth it. Third party booking made an error and and both took advantage of policy. Disappointing and clearly do not have care for the service they provide with no empathy towards anything they do.

£90 to sleep in a single bed in a bathroom. If you want to use a bathroom, as a bedroom, at least make it look like a bedroom. Still had the cheap plastic on the walls, and a pull light switch. Completely unfunctonal room. Was too noisy to open the window and too hot to not have it open. 2 hours sleep, before getting awoken by another guest checking in. Would never go back, or recommended

Not a bad hotel, the owners seem friendly enough. The parking is relying on the street parking, which during Mon-sat is limited to 3 hrs no return during day hours, could be inconvenient
