The Clarens Country House

We had a fabulous stay at this gem! Great, safe location in a golf estate right at the entrance to Clarens. The room was very spacious, cosy and well appointed. Cleaniliness was top class and it is in a very quite area yet within easy reach of all amenities.

We had a lovely time, the place was absolutely gorgeous, we loved every minute of our stay. Coming in and out of the gate was so easy. We will definitely return again. The bed was a bit to hard, but that is according to different preferences.

This was a brilliant choice for a weekend away from the bustkenof a major city. For amfamily of four this was a perfect choice, and great value for money. From the proactive communications by an excellent host, to an responsive staff when we wanted some change in the bedroom settings, and the facilities that enable you to enjoy time out without disturbance. The indoor wood-burning stove/heater was so useful for cool September months in this town. The beds were comfortable, and the estate has great security but also efficient access systems. Will certainly return.

We stayed with a group of nine and had the whole house for ourself. It was a wonderful stay. Our hosts very exceptionely friendly and made very good recommondations what to do and see and where to eat. They also made the necessary reservations. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. Each unit has a bedroom, a living room and a small kitchen, so you can cater for yourself if you want (we didn't). The rooms are nicely decorated and open to a lovely glas veranda, which you can open up to the lush gardens. On the premises is also a lovely art galery. The Country House is located on a gated golf course and therefore very safe. Its is a good starting point to discover the Golden Gates NP and the many bushmen paintings in the area. Will come again.

My stay at the Clarens Country house surpassed my expectations. I had expected to provide some items for myself in a self catering situation but it was provided for. The location also stunning and a stone throw from main centre. I sure will return

A very comfortable stay in a well-appointed self-catering unit in Clarens, a high-altitude town in the eastern Free State. Everything was arranged and organised for one's convenience and kept that way during the duration of the stay.
