Pier House 60 Clearwater Beach Marina Hotel

Clearwater Beach|0.24km from city center
We stayed here in June and had a good experience, except for the “below average” breakfast ( keep that in mind). We had a great view in room 602, and before we left, booked it again for September, requesting the same room—at least the same view. We came there in June because we prepaid for the rooms, though the Ringo & his All-Starr Band concert got postponed to September (two of them had COVID in June). So we came back last week for the concert. The concert was great, but cannot say that for Pier 60. When we checked in last week, we were relegated to a room as far away as possible from what we requested when we rebooked, a view of the parking garage. We went to the front desk, were informed it would be an extra $100 per night to stay in the same area we did before. When I protested, the clerk lowered it to $75 per night, wouldn’t go any lower, AND said we’d have to pay an extra $32 per day for parking, the pool, and the below average (and supposedly “complimentary” breakfast). My spouse had an injured foot and didn’t need to walk that far to the worst room in the hotel, so we bit the bullet and stayed in the better room and got hosed for the extra charges. That won’t happen again. If we ever return to Clearwater, which is doubtful at this point, we will avoid Pier 60 like the plague, We don’t appreciate being treated so badly. On top of being hosed as we were, I don’t need rock-hard breakfast items and bruised bananas. Never again. Be forewarned. I’m thankful Trip Advisor gives the chance to warn others.

I called Hampton Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach on South Gulfview Boulevard on June 10 to make reservations, and spoke with Stephen, who was a manager. I made him aware that I was coming to stay and that, due to a problem with my flight, I would not have any luggage or any food for my guide dog. He was very helpful and stated that, when I checked in, he would recommend places to get the items that I needed. I arrived around 5:00 p.m. on June 10 to check in. My guide dog was in her harness as I walked up to the front desk, at which point I made the front desk employee, Nancy, aware that I was legally blind. Nancy proceeded to ask me if I had a car, and then apparently realized that because I was blind I would not have one. She then proceeded to ask me to fill out a form without telling me what it was, and I reminded her that, because I was blind, I could not see to fill it out. She stated she would fill it out for me, and she asked me for my phone number and my ”pet's” name. I told her that my dog was not a ”pet” - she was a trained service animal. Nancy repeated her question, and I replied the same way. She asked the question yet a third time, and at this point I told her that my guide dog's name was ”Ginny” and that she should note on whatever form she was filling out that Ginny was not a ”pet,” she was a service animal. After this, Nancy asked me to sign the form she had filled out on my behalf without informing me what I was signing. I asked her what it was, and she stated that it was a ”pet agreement.” I reiterated for the third or fourth time that Ginny was a service animal and not a pet. Nancy replied that I needed to sign the form anyway. I asked her what it said. She stated that it said I would be charged a ”pet fee.” At this point I asked to speak to Stephen, the manager, and was told that he would not be back the rest of the weekend. I informed Nancy that it was illegal to charge me a pet fee for my service dog, and that I was not signing the form. After ignoring me with other tasks for a few minutes as I stood there, she finally gave me my room key with no further discourse on the subject. She also gave me a ”pet” sign to put on my door, which I left on the front desk because again, my dog is a service animal, and not a pet. At this point, I felt like I was staying in a hostile environment. Meekly - and almost in tears - I told Nancy that I needed someone to help me to my room. She grudgingly got someone to assist me, and I made it to my room before I cried. Eventually, I went back down to the front desk and Nancy at least showed me where the restaurant was. The restaurant staff were very kind, and could not believe that Nancy had treated me so inappropriately. Fast forward to the next morning. I went down to the front desk and asked to speak with the current manager or assistant manager on duty, at which point Nick - an assistant manager - came to speak with me. I told him what had happened, and he

SpringHill Suites Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Bay is beautiful, and personally feels thinner than Miami Beach, and the price is more affordable. The beach is not visible from the hotel, there is a shopping mall in the middle, and the beach is across the mall. The hotel room is very large. Our suite has two double beds and a sofa bed. It includes 6 breakfasts. We were comfortable for 4 people. The breakfast was great and very satisfying.

I cannot say enough about how beautiful and accommodating this hotel is! The rooms are beautifully decorated, very comfortable, all with spectacular ocean front views, and cleaner than any place I've ever stayed. Not to mention the staff (front desk, concierge, room service, restaurant, gift shop, tiki bar servers, housekeeping, etc.) were ALL absolutely amazing! The plush robes in each room was a cherry on top- I wore that robe every time I was in the room lol! Slept with the balcony door cracked every night to be lulled to sleep by the waves as well. The location is perfect - within walking distance to numerous restaurants, shops, the pier, or the trolley stop. Beach is not in the middle of everything so it's not crowded at all. Random texts from guest services asking if we needed anything were always a little surprise- and if we responded with a text asking for anything at all, they were right on it. Truly one of the best resorts I've ever stayed in....cannot wait to visit again!

Our super group of girls came to stay for a night to check out Clearwater. We opened our room door and the overwhelming smell of cleaner hit us. We had to open our door and leave it open for hours to get the smell out. Others would have requested a different room, but we roughed it out. They clean with Fabuloso cleaner, which is very strong. I saw housekeeping pouring a big ole batch into a bucket in the morning. Ugh. We went out to dinner at Salties next door which was good, btw. When we returned, the air conditioner had leaked all over the tile floor. We cleaned it up and carried on. The pool was nice and clean. There’s a great ice cream shoppe on the property. I had cookie dough! Yum. This hotel is across the street and down the block from beach access. The pillows were floppy, shredded junk, but the beds were ok. The shower was good, but there was no view from frosted window. Not sure if I would return.

Was my first visit to Clearwater beach and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was a bit concerned about our choice of hotel but it really exceeded my expectations! Valentina, at the front desk, was so friendly and helpful! We had a great view of the water from our balcony and the room was everything we could want, comfortable beds, cold refrigerator, and good air conditioning. We never had a problem with parking the car in the hotel (free) lot. We loved the pool deck, right on the beach. The bands at Shephards next door were loud but when we closed the balcony door it blocked the noise. Actually we enjoyed sitting on the balcony, listening to the music! Everything you need is in walking distance, restaurants, groceries, liquor store, and miniature golf. I wouldn't hesitant to book here again as it's a great value for this location.

The location is very good and the ground floor is connected to the beach. It’s great to watch the sun in the morning and watch the sunset in the evening. All the facilities and seats on the beach are charged. The price of the umbrella plus the bed is one hundred and one day. If the family rents one day, it is not bad, but the Florida afternoon in October is too dry and there is no way to stay.

The service was great. As many other reviewer‘s have reported, the motion sensor lights are sometimes problematic. But the front desk is very responsive. Also the ice machine on my floor did not work which is kind of a thing for me personally. But the hotel itself is beautiful and smells amazing!! While it is not directly on the beach, it is across the street and a very short walk. I would definitely stay there again. The only food I had there was at the outside bar, but it was really really good!
