Reviews of Pelican Pointe

When I booked Pelican Pointe hotel, I knew it was an older property so I wasn't expecting anything grand, plus the price was super affordable! When we first arrived, the room was very spacious for my family of 5. It was like a semi suite, kitchen was separated from the beds but not closed off. It had 2 doubles and a futon fold out in the kitchen/dining area. It was clean but had a funky smell, having a small well stocked kitchen with fridge and microwave was useful. At first glance it was nice, the location is amazing, right across the street from Clearwater Beach and complimentary parking which is a bonus (I hate having to pay extra for parking, so that was really great considering the price). I thought we really scored with this find, until.....my son saw a gigantic bug in the bathroom, it turned out to be a cockroach!!! EEEEWWWWW!!!! Throughout our stay we saw a few more big roaches and a ton of baby roaches everywhere. We were scared to turn off the lights because as soon as you did, the roaches came out to play, really gross and a major turn-off!!!! We slept with the lights on needless to say. We didn't bother to say anything because if there are roaches in this room, chances are the entire hotel has it! If it wasn't for the roaches, I would definitely recommend this hotel but I would never go back after seeing those nasty bugs. The hotel needs to fumigate and get rid of those roaches!!!!
