B&B Hotel Clermont-Ferrand A71-A75 la Méridienne

No air conditioning so had to sleep with window open - Highway noise & early light so poor sleep. WiFi was deplorable!

We stayed here after a long days travelling on the way back from Spain. The car park was free and fairy secure. The room was clean, air con was lovely. Beds were comfy. There was an onsite restaurant that looked lovely and also a busy roof bar if you fancy it. We walked over to the shopping centre across the road to grab a burger king as we wanted a quick meal. There was also a large supermarket for us to grab snacks for our journey for the next day to Calais. Would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.

We arrived on a drizzly cold night and I was so glad there is a restaurant in the hotel. In fact there are 2 restaurants , one on the ground floor which we visited and the other on the roof. The rooms are very functional but nice and clean with all you need for an overnight stop. The only downside for the room was that it was too hot and since we had our cats with us we could not open the windows to cool it down. Tried turning down the heating but nothing seemed to change. The restaurant was good with very chatty and friendly staff. I had a tuna steak served with a rôsti cake and some fresh vegetables and it was very good. We had a bottle of AOC Ventoux red wine which was very pleasant. For dessert a chocolate tart which had an unusual pink base but tasted good. The restaurant manager arranged for a magician who was working the other restaurant to come to our table an do a few tricks which was a nice touch. The breakfast was simple but good and we set off well refreshed the next day.

In terms of our room, for one night it was large enough. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. However it was let down by the lack of bedside reading lights, and the patchy WiFi which is sold as an asset to the room. But where praise is due - the public areas , reception, bar and restaurant are absolutely outstanding especially for a budget chain. The service there was excellent, professional and friendly. We ate in the restaurant last night and the food was very good. The rooftop bar was a real surprise- very smart, very popular and evidently bringing in customers not just guests. Breakfast was good too. So in summary it’s ok. You know what to expect with B and B hotels but we didn’t expect the public areas to be so good.

Excellent choice for an overnight stay. Receptionist knew about our small request and had accommodated it. Easy parking.

I stayed in June in the new B&B Hotel Clermont-Ferrand Centre. The room, for a budget-hotel, was pretty spacious as well as with modern and nice furniture. Also the bathroom was big enough, except the sink was too small. For around 56,00 EUR with breakfast - which was very good - I paid for one night it was a nice and comfortable stay I had there. Free parking is available in front of the hotel.

This was a convenient place to stay on our way to the West coast of France.
