Nice off the beaten path hotel about to undergo renovations according to the front desk. The room we booked, a suite, was not to our liking with a large open bathroom sans any door or privacy. We asked for a more traditional room and were accomodated immediately. The bed was comfortable and we heard no noise from the hallway so it was a good night's sleep. The bathroom needs updating, most especially a shower head with a better water distribution. We were met with smiles and friendly greetings by everyone who worked there. And found the breakfast space clean and pleasant with a nice selection of edibles. Really enjoyed our dinner the night before at the affiliated Mad Boar next door to the Inn. The area is pretty and peaceful. All in all, a good experience and one we hope to revisit on our next trip.

I love the Fairfield Inn and Suites chain and stay in them twice a year when traveling from FL to New England. I have stayed in Dunn a few times. Usually, I am exhausted after driving all day and have difficulty walking. It takes every last bit of my reserve just to make it to my room. If I am lucky, I get to the hotel before all of the handicapped parking spots are taken, but if they are taken, I have to walk further than usual. Typically I take a light shopping bag, my purse and a cane and put it on the ”bellhop” luggage carriers located right inside the front door of the hotel. Then I grab my check in room key and take the luggage carrier right to my room (using it almost like a walker to lean on). I keep it overnight and then use it to get back to my car. This time the front desk person called me to bring it back. I told them I couldn't as I couldn't walk one more step. They said that they would collect it, so I left it outside my door for them to come get it. But what I wasn't prepared for was the next morning. A wonderful front desk person named Christine called me up and knowing that I used it to assist me to walk to my car, she offered to drop it off at my room so I could bypass check out and go directly to my car. This was so sweet and thoughtful and saved me many steps and more shortness of breath. Thank you Christine of Fairfield Inn Dunn NC for your kindness. I used to go back and forth between booking at Dunn or Smithfield depending on how tired I was. I will always book at Dunn now. Love everything about Fairfield Suites, multiple locations NC and PA. Friendly staff, great breakfast, very clean

The room is simple and clean. The old hotel is well maintained. The old American classic air conditioner is very noisy when turned on, and the soundproofing in the room is average. You can hear the louder phone calls of the guests next door.
