Excellent pub, could not fault anything!! Staff were super friendly and the room was immaculate.

I wish I had taken a picture of the INSECTS crawling INSIDE my daughter’s burger bun before I sent it back. A poor attempt at customer service from a restaurant that left me feeling that I should have been grateful they served us rather than the stark reality that they are in fact battling a hugely competitive market for our dining out money. Avoid at all costs.

Roast potatoes under done, boiled then roasted for too short a time, covered with lashings of tasteless gravy, no option given although I don’t like gravy on my food. When I brought this to the servers attention nothing was offered or done. Seated on a table looking into the kitchen watching the chief plate up my food with his hands. All in all a very disappointing Sunday lunch.

Easter Monday family birthday meal at the newly reopened Flag Inn. The menu, decor and staff are all lovely. Food was carefully presented and dietary needs considered attentively. Hope they change the menu regularly to keep fresh interest as we would love to come back soon.

I booked a room about January2024 for a wedding that we are going to in September2024 with *********** they took my money and 6 months later they cancelled it and gave my money back saying the hotel has cancelled, i went on another site and they had 1 room left £20 more then what i paid. All i can say is if you treat to many people like that you will be out of business.

My most recent experience of The Flag sadly involved a family funeral. Principal mourners stayed in the hotel's accommodation and without exception reported excellent facilities and comfort. The Monday evening saw 33 family and friends served a pre-ordered meal which again was seen to be faultless - efficient friendly staff made the evening an occasion for happy memories. Food was excellent and drinks were served efficiently and speedily. A post-funeral reception for 80 people was held on the Tuesday afternoon and past off without a hitch with attenders able to mingle effectively. The organisation of the entire funeral was made so much easier by by prompt and coherent responses to the many queries that arose. My wife and I had enjoyed many meals at The Flag since it re-opened and so it was natural to choose it for her funeral wake and reception. The staff didn't let us down - she would have so enjoyed it!
