Steigenberger Hotel Köln Reviews

Business Trip for nights was nice and comfortable.

I'm a Steigenberger fan. And this was my third stay at the Köln hotel. This year, it was clear quality of services and amenities dropped, from the collapse of the computer system right at the start of Gamescom, to long waits to speak with staff. The hotel needs more seasoned hands on deck. Staff is helpful & friendly, but overworked. Not happy with the half glass wall that separates part of the shower from the rest of the bathroom. It's a poor design that leaves the bathroom floor wet. Get a proper sliding door in place or a shower curtain. The bottom of the bathroom door showed clear signs of water damage. Also, don't flag all your green initiatives when you offer non-recyclable metal pods for the Espresso machine. Breakfast was great, parking nearby, love the location and neighborhood. But the hotel felt shabbier and service slide was notable from a year ago.

Perfect location, the rooms are a bit small though. Didn't like that the room's door is practically near the bed.

Great hotel to stay near Koln Cathedral.

The room had a bed right next to the door, which made it quite disrupting in the evening because you could hear the footsteps... however, I saw some other rooms while they were being cleaned, and I think I just got really unlucky with the layout of the room. Another thing was the hotel was located right next to the tram station so it was quite loud as well. Also, there was a huge gap below the bathroom door which I didn't like as it didn't give you much privacy. However, the breakfast was excellent and the receptionist person on my check out day (13th of December, around 11am)was extremely nice.

Facilities: Very comfortable bed, clever cloakroom design, and small sofa, spacious and comfortable. Hygiene: Clean Environment: The old city wall is just outside, which is convenient for traveling. There is a rewe 200 meters away, which is convenient for replenishing supplies. Service: Friendly.

Dust under the bed, huge fly in the room - as you can't open the windows, we caught it but the service staff didn't remove it but released it back into the room. No slippers as stated. Unfriendly staff. I paid the tourism fee when I checked in but this was not noted by the staff so I had to pay it again when I checked out. My request to contact the colleague who checked me in was not responded to or to check the cameras which show that I paid in cash. No apology or anything similar came from the staff. When I was sitting outside, it took an hour for the table I was sitting at to be cleared of the old glasses from the previous guests & the staff did not wipe it down and it was left with stains.

The room was large and comfortable, and overall it was good. The only weird thing was that the access card that we used to plug in the power supply to the room disappeared inexplicably. Combined with the poor security in Cologne, it always made people feel uneasy. Fortunately, nothing happened in the end. I guess it is likely that the house keeping pulled out the door card by mistake. It is still a warning.

The hotel environment is good and the location is very convenient.

The room is big enough and the facilities are good. The front desk is so unprofessional, they made a lot of mistakes and assigned me to the wrong room. They froze my card for 322 euros. After I pointed out their inappropriateness on the spot, the front desk operation showed that the funds were unfrozen, but I still did not receive the bank unfreezing information until October 3. The frozen funds at the front desk of other hotels in German cities on September 28 and 29 had been unfrozen. My direct feeling is that this is a trick of the hotel and it is extremely dishonest. I have been in Europe for 36 days and I have the worst impression of this hotel. The management cannot keep up with the hardware.

Very nice hotel

The location is excellent and convenient, there are many restaurants around, the service is fast and friendly, parking is in the paid underground public parking lot next to the hotel, and the breakfast is also good. I will stay again.

Weekend away with Zen 2. Great hotel. Neat and modern. Nice room. Sufficiently spacious. Coffee available. Spacious bathroom with single shower. Did not use breakfast due to price. Central location. Underground parking for €25 per day.

Best location, large and clean rooms. But the location is also quite noisy and it can take longer to check in.
