Hotel Riu Papayas - All Inclusive

Excellent services. Good food. 7th floor Good choice. Staff very polite at all levels. Great location. Bus no 30 direct to Las Palmas,one hour journey one way. Entertainment team very good. Very comfortable hotel,neat and clean. We stayed two weeks and had a very relaxing time.

A good hotel in a good location. Although the area of Playa del Ingles where it is situated, looks to have seen better days and some areas look rundown now. Room Tips, people advocate to upgrade into the garden view rooms. In my opinion it's really not necessary. One side of the standard rooms overlooks the Hotel Waikiki and that receives the sun all morning and the other side overlooks the Jardin del Sol and receives the sun all afternoon. Whereas in the garden view rooms, some balconies receive no sun on them at any part of the day. The hotel is in a horseshoe shape, the rooms therefore in the bottom curve all overlook each other and it feels a bit like sitting in a goldfish bowl. Also the rooms in the curve, seem narrower and therefore seem to be occupied with couples. The themed restaurants are very good, especially the Spanish restaurant Olè. The buffet restaurant is good and there is always something to eat, even for the fussiest of eaters. Although it does get very busy at breakfast time. The pool area is good and there's never an issue with getting sunbeds, like all hotels however you still get the people putting towels out at 5:30am, but there's really no need to. Entertainment. During the day it's very good with plenty of activities on offer should you choose to participate. There's also some very good shows on an evening. However it just finishes far to early. Some evenings, shows were all finished by 10pm and in my opinion that's just to early when the hotel advertises 24hr All inclusive. As a loyal customer of Riu hotels, would I return again. Probably, but in a better room.

We have been to this hotel twice couldn’t praise it enough absolutely fantastic hotel all the staff are absolutely amazing starting with the RIU entertainment team absolutely amazing make your holiday the best ever they work so very hard the bar staff so cheerful and restaurant staff so cheerful and beautifully clean and that’s down to the friendly hotel domestics staff .

Great hotel, wonderful service, staff and rooms. The animation team work very hard all day and night. Stayed 7 nights and never went in the pool as it was too cold. Will be be returning as the food was terrible. Same thing every day/night, no themed nights and everything over cooked except the salad. Would not go again because of this. However, the Asian and Spanish resturants were great.

Spent week at the RIU Papua’s and had a great holiday. The hotel was amazing, spotlessly clean and has friendly and helpful staff, will definitely be staying again.

We arrived at the hotel on the 16th of May, and stayed until the 23rd of May. Before this holiday, both me and my partner have never travelled to Gran Canaria, so we were both excited and apprehensive to experience such a place for the first time. Cleanliness I have decided to begin with the joint easiest section to review for both my partner and I; the cleanliness of Riu Papayas. My girlfriend is the human incarnation of cleanliness, meaning this is incredibly easy to gauge for us. It was spotless. No hairs to be seen anywhere, no smudges on glass/tables, everything in great condition or repair, and that was just the room. The hallways, pool, entertainment area, bars, reception and toilets were all held to a glowing standard. The hardworking maids/cleaning staff should all be proud of keeping such a high level. Even the bar staff chipped in with cleaning tables and maintaining a safe and very respectable calibre all the way through the night. Location Placed at the top of a modern day beach resort, the hotel is by no means in a bad or difficult location. 5-10 minute bus ride or a generous 20 minute walk to the local beach. However, before I flood the praise gates, we both thought that you are just slightly too far away from holiday highlights such as the local beaches, large stretches of bars/restaurants and arcades/tourist traps. While we praise the initiative and class from the hotel of offering a free bus to the beach, it is just one of many beaches in the local area. Other than that, the location is good, especially if you enjoy a more quiet or relaxed environment. Local amenities such as bars, supermarkets and gift shops are as short as a one minute walk from the front entrance of the hotel. Value Always a difficult section to review, as many people will have paid more or less than we did. In relation to the price we paid we believe it was yet again, very consistent. There are drinks machines scattered around as well as the main restaurant serving food and pepe's (serving snacks through the p.m). There are also two other restaurants serving Spanish and Asian dishes respectively. Unfortunately however, we didn't get to try these, though it was due to us forgetting to book. There is also a mini club and entertainment on every night, some of which are a delight to view. A few things for a perfect score would be: dedicated games room (pool tables, video games, etc.) And introducing TV screens into one of the bar areas, mainly for sports. More toilets would also be a welcome addition, especially near the entertainment, although not a deal breaker. Service Now this is by far the easiest category to review for us both. We have stayed in lots of different places over our 25 - 26 years and we can say that we've never experienced kinder, more welcoming hospitality anywhere in the world. This is a honest review ill start with the good points reception and bar staff are lovely always on hand to help you hotel is clean but some parts need attention Bad points food not nice always Luke warm same food most days stopped going in restaurant after 4 days couldn't face it restaurant staff don't speak to you or crack a smile there's one lady who is lovely though and works in the old restaurant at night always smiling and helpful as for the entertainment staff the worst I've seen barely speak quite ignorant to be honest entertainment isn't brilliant all finishes most nights at 10 apart from the odd karaoke no music round the pool the days can be long and boring people just sat around no atmosphere in hotel went to riu parisio in lanzorte couldn't find a fault staff food entertainment spot on so thought would try another riu but haven't enjoyed it at all couldn't wait for the bus to pick us up get us home definitely won't be back

Great central hotel. Central to Yumbo centre ( shopping) and the promenade. The food is as all RUI hotels is good , plenty of choice. The only “ small” issue was that we asked for an iron and ironing board for the room , my husband likes to iron his clothes , to be told this service wasn’t available. We’ve stayed at RUI hotels both in the Caribbean and in Europe and this is the first time the service was unobtainable. We will be back , but next time we will take our own travel iron. Staff and animation team friendly and very professional.
