Condado Vanderbilt Hotel

The facilities are beautiful, as is the view. The team in the restaurants were hospitable and did their jobs really well. It's in the center of Condado, so great restaurants nearby, and an easy Uber to Old SJ. The rooms & service there was different. We went with our son, so I booked a suite (as a splurge). When we got into our room, it was a wonderful room, but there were a series of maintenance issues. The phone didn't work. The table was uneven ( I used a thick wedge to stablize it). Curtain rods were broken. Additional smaller things. I talked to a person on our floor, they said they would fix it. It didn't get fixed. After 4 days I ran into a manager who asked about our stay. I told him, he took detailed notes. Nothing happened. Never got fixed. We were supposed to have butler service. The butler sent a text after we'd been there 4 days saying to let them know if we needed something. We never saw him/her. I suspect a normal room would be fine there. But pretty disappointing considering how the Commodore suite was marketed - I think we would have got better service at a chain hotel.

Fabulous hotel. So classy! Great location and view. Thought the Heritage rooms could have been a bit bigger for the price tag, and prefer having hotel rooms without carpets. Food was amazing! Love the service you get poolside - all the staff were so nice and personable. Would love to return to this beautiful oasis someday!

The hotel was beautiful and the staff helpful and friendly. But DO NOT book a room on the 12th floor. There is a generator above the rooms on the roof, that when it kicks on, will keep you awake ALL night even if you sleep with earplugs. On top of that, the staff was outside in the halls early talking loud and making noise after we already did not sleeping much during the night. They should wait until guests check out to be that loud.
