SpringHill Suites Corona Riverside

Came here for to work as a remote office one day. Fairly newer property, located off the 15 Freeway in Corona. Lots of free parking, and it appears that in the Non-COVID world they offer a free hot breakfast. On this visit it was just a grab and go bag. The property is very clean, and the employees all take the appropriate safeguards(masks, gloves as needed, plexiglass barriers). Like some other properties they do not label things as clean and sanitized, but the rooms are well kept, so bring your own disinfectant if you desire. The rooms are large, a separate sofa desk area, a small wet bar, and a generous sleeping area. The wifi is very good, so it made remote work so much easier. The business center is ”closed” as are most of the common areas for now. My only downside is that while i enjoy a good cigar, at most properties smoking is either not allowed on the property, or the designated area is in ”back” away from most customers. The smoking area at this property is right in front next to the hotel entrance, so i can see how some people may be turned off by this. Location may also be a challenge, which although right off the freeway, you still have a bit of a drive off the freeway exit to reach the property. It is located in a mixed use Residential/Commercial area, so there are not many walkable amenities nearby, but if you have a car there are many options. Overall a good stay, great value, and would definitely come back if i were in need of a room in the area.

Residence Inn Corona Riverside

I am a Lifetime Marriott member and I've stayed in Marriott's all over the world. The Residence Inn is not a ”full service” property. However, this RI is not up to par for some of the other properties in the same category. The personnel I encountered were all very kind and pleasant. But that's really the only compliment I can give (other than the GREAT water pressure). This Residence Inn has completely stopped their ”social hour” in the evening with any type of food/snacks/drinks during the week (what RI is associated with and has been for YEARS). They say it was Covid. But what about the popcorn in the basket? No more popcorn in the rooms and this was undoubtedly stopped due to the cost. How much can a bag of popcorn cost--especially when you stop the evening ”social hour”? They are really cutting back here and it shows. No laundry bag in the room, the dish soap has been so watered down that I don't even think it will get soapy. No extra paper towels below the sink--I ran out the 2nd day so they knew there were very few towels when they cleaned the room from the last guest. The carpets were very dirty. In the hall, stairs, lobby--I don't think any of the carpets have been vacuumed in weeks and it shows. The breakfast was one of the worst--especially for a RI. No fruit on the days I was there and the oatmeal looks like it was from last week. The ”scones” were so dry that it wasn't even worth the calories. I guess for a family feeding children, the waffle maker would be the winner here but for an adult, hard pass on the ”breakfast.” There was some yogurt and a few toppings to put on the yogurt. Some scrambled eggs and sausage. They did have hard boiled eggs too. This RI needs some serious TLC.

I'll keep this on point because after what I've experienced with booking.com, OYO Hotels and ”Hotel Corona”, I want to make sure they're exposed for who they really are: scam artists and cheats. They'll charge your card the day before (10/25/19) and require a $100 cash deposit, but when you cancel due to the smell of urine and finding what appears to be mice feces on the sheets and pillows, you get this: ”Yes, that's right. You'll receive a refund in 7 to 10 days.” There's a sign at the front desk stating you have 10 minutes to look over the room and if not satisfied to let the clerk know in order to change rooms or get refunded the deposit. Property gave me back my $100 and handed me a check-out receipt dated the next day (10/27/19). Told me that to get my refund I have to call booking.com (LIE!) Booking.com sent me an email stating I canceled the room and would not be charged the cancellation fee as informed by OYO Hotels, which is the price of the room ($112.20). So I called on the 11th day, talked to a girl in India (Baaangaaaaaaaaaaaaaalorrre!!) who now tells me 21 days. In the meantime, booking.com is worthless for any help because they just act as a liaison. OYO then writes asking for my bank info, that it's required to process the refund: Booking Id: Account number to refund into: Name of the account holder: Name of the Bank: SWIFT code: IBAN: Sort code: Routing no.: Refund amount: Contacted my credit union to start fraud investigation and get charges to my card reversed. Received ”refund” (my CU credited me) 2 days later. NOW, as of 11/21/2019, my CU informs me that OYO Hotels is refusing to pay them, that I checked out of the room! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??!! My CU sent me a letter to sign, countering OYO's claim, that copies of emails show the room was canceled and that a refund was promised. Moral of this story? STAY AWAY FROM THIS INDIAN BASED COMPANY UNLESS YOU LIKE THE SMELL OF URINE AND SLEEPING WITH MICE FECES!! (And of course fighting like mad for your promised refund). PS: My CU's anti-fraud dept sent me a text message early on 10/25/19 asking if the charge by OYO Hotels was legit. I said it wasn't because I didn't recognize the name. I then called and confirmed that OYO Hotels was in fact ”Hotel Corona Hwy 91” once I saw the amount to be charged. YO! OYO! STOP USING THE OLD NAME ONLINE FOR YOUR CRAPPY PROPERTY!!

Immediately upon arriving at this location I felt uneasy, nervous, afraid! There were men sitting in cars in the parking lot and others sitting on the stairs. All of them seemed to be watching me as I got in and got out of my car. It was a very uncomfortable experience. I told the young lady at the front desk (Ada) about my apprehensions. She was sympathetic and explained to me that she does think it’s fairly safe there but that there are cholo‘s a.k.a. Latino gang members who live on site. This was not the place for me to stay with my two small children. I had a 7 day reservation but only stayed one night (that was only because it was almost 9pm when I checked in, my boys and I were exhausted as we’d been on the road for several hours. I had a little difficulty canceling the reservation although the manager said I could. It took several hours and several calls to corporate/customer service for the cancellation to actually take place. Oh, and housekeeping came in and threw away some of my things as I was loading my vehicle..

My Boyfriend and I had a staycation went glen ivy Staybridge is minutes away from glen ivy . Overall I feel satisfied with my stay some the furniture in our room was bit rundown especially the little sofa in the bedroom. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and was clean . I wish both bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner in it only one did , it was locked so we could take in the other restroom . Also I used the laundry room only one washer was available and it smelled, the other washers were I guess broken because they had no door on them . I wanted to use the pool but every day we were there it was occupied with a group of children. Staff was friendly. But I didn’t understand why they called my room to see if I was checking out it was only 8:00 am check out was at 11:00. I will probably not stay again .

The downtown area of Corona is in a good location, shopping and eating are very convenient! The hotel is an economical hotel, affordable, the room size is suitable, enough for 3 ~ 4 people to live, and the sanitary conditions are OK.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside to our trip were the strong sewage smell outside of the hotel, at the entrance. It was persistently present each time we accessed the building. Another smell on the second floor was as string but not offensive, like vinegar near rooms # 210-220. My daughter thought it smelled like a dentist’s office. Smells aside, the halls are brightly lighted and clean with inspirational quotes on each door. Continental breakfast was served daily and the pool was open, though we were too busy to enjoy it. He fitness room remained closed due to the pandemic. We would stay here again fir the convenience on/off the 91 freeway. The beds were not luxury but not terrible. They could be improved with a memory foam topper.
