Days Inn by Wyndham Corpus Christi Beach

It was an easy check in, staff person female was nice, but not welcoming. She checked me in like it was routine, no warmth. The bed sheets were clean, bed comfortable, but one of the pillowcases has a rusty streak. The top cover had a cigarette burn in it. Part of the wall had a big 10-inch scrape, 3 inches wide. The edges of the carpet in the entire room were dirty, looked like white dust on the entire perimeter. The fire alarm was not secure. There were long lines on the ceiling where they spackled. The window was dirty looking, white smokey splotched, could not see barely out of it. The panel to block the door once you entered the room was loose. The room was and looked sketchy. I will not stay there again. I give the overall rating from me is a 2 and not a 1 because check in was easy.

Pretty good hotel. Good value for money

If you are on a tight budget but still aspire a vacation by the beach, this is a good option with trade-offs. Every decision has a trade-off and this is no different. If you are yearning for a beach-facing room, you should not mind the sad neighborhood, old building (not antique type), creaking infrastructure, mold-smelling rooms, measly breakfast options. A heads-up - if you are a family of 5, it is a "sardiney" squeeze...so don't go by 3rd party aggregators who sell the rooms as fit for 5 occupants. However if you are used to 5 people living in small 200 Sq ft tenement, you will not have a problem adjusting.....but carry your own air mattress. Even the roll-up bed offered by the hotel (i.e. if you are lucky to get one from them) won't fit for the 5th person. The plus side is - beach facing rooms, 2 minute walk to the North Beach, 2 minute drive from. USS Lexington floating Naval Aircraft Carrier museum (don't miss this at all....), 3 minute drive from Texas State Aquarium.

Everything was good since the beginning fast and easy. Comfortable stay for the price and beach is in walking distance.

It is a short walk from this motel to Corpus Christi's North Beach; a short drive to the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington. Bring bug spray; mosquitos will be a problem on the days without a strong breeze coming off the ocean.

The lobby and room smelled of mold / mildew. Killed my sinuses, ai was stuffy and had a headache for days after.

We had a great stay the room was clean perfect location near the beach we will definitely be back again.

By far, my worse hotel stay experience! Don't stay here, you will be thoroughly disappointed. We checked in, received our room key and went to our room. The room was disgusting, stains on the blankets, dirty tub, poor lighting, no tv remote and worse of all a dead roach in the middle of the floor. The room looked as though it hadn't been updated since the 1970's. We returned to the front desk, told the front desk staff the room was unacceptable. After some time and realizing he gave us a room that wasn't cleaned, he provided us a key to a room at the other end of the floor. We checked out the room and this room was better, updated, clean and somewhat remodeled but NO TOWELS and the tub wouldn't drain! Back down to the front desk, more excuses, he contacted the cleaning staff via a handheld radio to bring us towels and to look at the tub. She brought us towels but used alot of fowl, unprofessional language about management. She even stated, they never give out these upgraded rooms, several comments made were inappropriate by an employee. Their elevator didn't seem safe, very muggy, doors didn't close properly not up to code. We asked to cancel one of our two nights and was told we would lose our money. Lastly, the so called continental breakfast left much to be desired. Days Inn by Wyndham should be ashamed, in the lobby, it stated the hotel was independently owned and you could tell nobody from Days Inn or Wyndham checks this property. Stay somewhere else.

Hot water in shower ONLY worked when dial was at one particular spot. Next, I refused to walk on the carpet without a pair of shoes. My husband took off his shoes and i requested that he throw his socks away. Breakfast was beyond basic. Froot Loops, Corn Flakes, Activa yogurt, and apples, nothing else. Orange juice and mango juice was colored water since machine was empty. The pool was a concrete hole in the ground that was a haven for mosquitos, since it was not completely drained. Entire parking lot was filled with swarms of mosquitos. Upon arrival, I assumed it was because it was night and near the water but i was wrong. During the day, 200 times worse. And the puddles of stagnant water around the property made them even worse. Under no circumstances use the elevator. The elevator was not in use during the evening hours since it is right above the owners room. The next morning, I used the elevator, smell is obnoxious, no circulation in elevator that is partially inside and outside and you will be scared half to death. Once elevator makes it to the designated floor, nothing alerts you. Attempting to get off since air is suffocating you have to hit door open in order to get out, not knowing whether you made it to your designated floor. Stairs and balcony covered in bird feces. Outdoor hotel that looks absolutely NOTHING like picture, whatsoever. Owner is EXTREMELY unprofessional when something is brought to their attention. You will get told that no one else has complained.
