The hotel is indeed, as many other people have commented, in need of maintenance. The potential is certainly there but the upkeep is quite poor. We had a large, superior room which is quite basic. With a little paint and some new furniture it could be so much better. It feels as if it was just left in the current state without having any work done for decades. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning certainly worked very well. The bathroom was spacious but needs a good scrub. The toiletries were the cheapest possible and only had soap and shower gel. The breakfast had a lot of sweet pastries so if you’re trying to maintain a somewhat healthy diet, it’ll be nearly impossible. The selection was also very inconsistent so on some morning they had boiled eggs and on others they didn’t. 90% of the food available was sweet. The pool area is also very basic. It was, however, clean and had a bar where you can buy drinks, ice cream and lunch. We ordered two poke bowls, 15e each which were very disappointing so definitely not recommended. The pool is also heavily used by people who are not staying at the hotel. On the weekend, when they had a lot of external visitors, they point you a sun lounger so you are not able to choose one yourself. This was very confusing as we were the 1st ones by the pool that day. We did manage to agree on where we wanted to stay but it did feel very strange that you don’t have any say in where you want to stay by the pool. You get pool towels from the reception which are not changed so we had to use the same towels for three days. The general look and feel of the hotel is quite poor, unfortunately. There’s no consistency and everything is rusty and in need of maintenance. We didn’t eat at the restaurant (there are some very nice options nearby) because of our poor experience with the breakfast and the poke bowls.

A beautiful very old castle. Rooms a little tired and could do with a little bit of TLC. But would not put us off recommending this hotel. Dinner was very tasty (although not the cheapest). Hotel staff are helpful. The historical pictures around the hotel are so interesting. Definitely worth a visit.

We were visiting nearby Piacenza but rather than stay in the town saw this hotel and decided to stay with you as you had a spa and a restaurant which looked very nice even though it was much higher priced than staying in Piacenza However on arrival we were told these were closed and not available, the restaurant was closed as the staff were on holiday. This was not mentioned at the time of booking or on your website – for us this is the reason why we booked with the hotel for a nice weekend get away. In addition the hotel rooms were far from ideal for the price you charge, the fridges do not work properly and are in a poor state of repair, plus the shower door in one room fell off, on arrival the toilet needed fixing before use and there is bird mess and the state of your hotel is ran down and in tardy. If the hotel is unable to run a restaurant and spa, they should not advertise it, if they do not have sufficient staff due to summer to properly maintain the hotel they should close for summer and re-open when you have sufficient staff. We asked the front desk to speak to the management but we were told there were on holiday too and there was not way of speaking to anyone. This is a very poor state and really indicates they are happy to take the money from people without offering the service. We could have stayed in Piacenza at a good hotel for around 100 Euro, instead we paid significantly more for a very poor experience with management who don't seem to care much. We contacted management during and after our stay to raise our concerns BU THEY JUST IGNORED US. In summary - over priced - no advertised facilities available - dirty and in dis-repair - management unavailable at and after the hotel stay

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend of August in this structure tempted by the positive reviews, but unfortunately it turned out to be a real disappointment. We stayed in the Charlotte Suite, a very spacious room but not at all clean, so much so that upon our arrival we found three insects in the shower tray, other insects in the sink and the toilet bowl with patches of pee obviously not ours, not to mention the dust and sp *** cobwebs here and there around the room. In the jacuzzi there was also a spider and one of the 2 broken headrests. The TV was unusable because you could only see one channel. Nice pool area, nice and easy going bartender but even here the shared bathroom, arrived Sunday morning at 12 was very dirty, I even found a piece of toilet paper with blood on the mirror cabinet. The only positive note was the kindness and availability of all the staff who, I want to clarify, immediately had the bathroom cleaned after we complained. But honestly, if I pay 180 euros a night for a suite, I expect something else, because a room like this cannot be called a Suite. We would have also expected a minimum discount for the mess of the bathroom found dirty as well as on arrival also the following morning after having arranged the room, which instead there was not. If you want to make a late check out until 6 pm at a cost of 50 euros, know that there is no rearrangement of the room, which is not specified at the time of booking. Having said that, it is a structure that would have excellent potential but it is really badly managed, we need to do much, much better.

One night stay characterized by a nice atmosphere dedicated to relaxation and quality. Clean pool great cocktails. Courteous staff. Too bad for the restaurant closed for holidays. We will be back in the winter for the relaxation path.

Unfortunately, everything I was told was not done. They ask for an extra amount for the location for the decorations, very few decorations, a centerpiece with two roses and two candles on the sides of the table with buffet, poor buffet and above all taken away even before finishing it. Dark location for a party and to finish at half past midnight the lights are still out with all the guests there ....

Not the first Spa we go to, for the price and for 2 people in private it is absolutely the correct size, indeed, large. The cellars are very flashy, the vaults are fantastic. There is a beautiful silence, there is no traffic of people in the courtyard and outside around the castle. We really felt like we were being pampered. Even in the restaurant the service is very present and friendly and lively. They want to work. Beautiful! I have read some reviews, so yes, in fact the sweet receptionist is better than noticing that there is as an option another entrance beyond the spiral staircase (beautiful, but let me tell you, it's dangerous). He didn't tell us. But it is really a very overlookable detail. I recommend asking for an aperitif right away, as the wine is immersed in ice. So no one will come through the door anymore and you will enjoy the peace. It is not possible, but I am naked in the tub like a beggar! I'm not beautiful to look at ... but the wife put up with me. 100% relaxation. The restaurant is slightly more expensive than the average restaurant in the area but gentlemen ... it was really nice and very studied. I spent 10 euros more each. For me it was worth it! Well done. I'll be back for sure also because there aren't many of these services in the area and I avoid the stress of the motorway and queues.

Nella campagna piacentina si erge un gran casolare castello tipico in mattoni rossi. Ristorante ricavato e arredato a tema medievale! Promozioni convenienti.
