Our room was very shabby with peeling wallpaper, water stain on the ceiling, mis matched paint where touched up, grubby grout, gaps in the laminate flooring and dust and dirt in the corners of where the bathroom and shower door close. Stained and obviously old toilet brush and balcony lights that didn't work. For use of the safe a 20 euro deposit is required with a cost of 3 euros per day. We encountered an issue with a very small amount of money that had been taken and also something out of the fridge. Out of principal we reported this to the manager. This was attributed to a misunderstanding, but was definitely not the case. I was offered recompense, but the point was missed completely and in the end there wasn't any recompense. Some of the food was good, though I encountered uncooked prawns and pork. Food was , at times, poorly labeled. Fresh fruit options were generally good, other desserts were very poor quality. Drinks at mealtimes also poor, especially wine and fruit juice. During several breakfast times the toast machine caught fire ,through what I witnessed, no fault of the user. Snacks during the day were also poor quality. Ice creams were charged at 25% discount to all inclusive guests. I witnessed another guest requesting a cup of tea. This was served with boiling water in a plastic beaker. This, to me, in an adult only hotel is unacceptable. Salt and pepper is offered in paper sachets, again unacceptable. The pool area tiles need re grouting and the sun beds are filthy. Pool area tables were dirty, we had to wipe ourselves. One of the pool attendants was very unkempt and wore the same dirt grey jogging bottoms and it seemed he wanted to disrupt and upset guests on a daily basis by reprimanding anyone who moved their sun beds or one of the very few parasols. A grown adult wasn't permitted to have a drink out of a plastic beaker at the side of the pool. Entertainment ,during the day ,was okay for some, but was actually very noisy. Evening entertainment was average and very loud, though this ceased at 11pm which was a relief as it resonated throughout a certain part of the hotel. There are four large feature lamps outside the entertainment area. One of these, for the duration of our stay of twelve nights, wasn't working. The hotel has a rooftop chill out area that should be open at 11 am. We went up at 11 and several people was waiting to gain access as it was still locked. After this was reported to reception it was duly opened. On a positive note we encountered some very hard working and friendly staff, especially the gentleman in the dining area. Most of the bar staff were very friendly. Location is very good being short walks from the beach and shops, though parts of Caleta are derelict. Overall, this hotel is nowhere near the rating that it is given. In fairness, we feel let down, having spent hard earned money on this holiday. Some other guests that I spoke to felt the same. We'd read the reviews on trip advisor and gave this p
