Location - perfect. Very central. Grounds - immaculate. Room - nice, clean, spacious, somewhat dated. Sadly this is where the positives end for us. Booked our stay as we were attending a wedding. When booking the reservation on line, I asked if we could possible check-in early as to dress for the wedding. I got no reply. I called the Manoir the day, before our arrival and asked if we could check-in at 3pm rather than 4pm so we could dress for the wedding (we were coming from four hours away). The answer - No due to COVID. But, i was told, "do come and register before going to the wedding so you don't disturb when you get in from the wedding". Upon arrival at 315pm I registered (as to not disturb later) given the time, I tried my luck again, might we be able to access our room..."No" and please note, " you must be out by 11 am or there are charges - we've noticed people try to extend their departures, but with COVID we need to clean" When we got to our room at midnight, on a very warm and humid evening (humidex was at 91%) we found that our air conditioned room was not central air, but rather a mal functioning small window unit. Many of the items from the room had been removed (extra pillows, blanket, iron, etc.) all do to COVID. I can understand, makes sense, great to have an note explaining this, however the note also states, if you want one of the items you must request it before 6pm. As stated above, the location, cleanliness, decor are all very nice. Sadly the customer service experience and the blame it all on COVID mantra left us very disappointed. It should also be noted, they don't accept credit cards or cash...only debit or e-transfer...for which I am still waiting for my invoice.
