Wessex Inn by the Sea

If you are thinking of using public transport, this is not the place for you. It is not accessible by bus, the few buses that go here, run every 3 hours and have only 3 buses per day, the surrounding area is pretty but not worth the walk. Furthermore, the room we got was nice and clean, but it was not the room we book. We got a renovated room which we are happy and grateful for, however we paid for a suite with kitchenette, which was not present in the room. The staff was wonderful, super accomodating and nice, this was the thing that stopped us from complaining about the room as we only wanted to sleep the night and move to our next destination. Overall, amazing staff and service, rooms are clean and nice but different from what you book so be careful.

All the staff members are extremely helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. If you have luggage, should ask for the ground floor as there is no elevator.  I would stay there again when I visit next time. Thank you.

From the moment I checked in it was fabulous! Friendly and very inviting place that is quaint and in an amazing location in Cowichan Bay. Just far enough away from the main street and it's business - walking distance so no worries about having to bring a vehicle to explore the village. Clean and the room was exceptionally nice. Newly renovated suite with 2 queen beds and a kitchenette. The room was equipped with more than enough towels, pots, cutlery, coffee and they even had splenda which made me very happy. Very quiet, the view from one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on was the ocean. I literally sit up in my bed in the morning and see the ocean. Hearing the sea lions right from my room is pretty awesome, it's high season for them at the moment in Cowichan Bay and the reason many people come around this time of year. I will not stay anywhere else in Cowichan Bay except this little gem! I even extended my stay! Great Job to this small team for the best stay ever!
