I stayed at the hotel while attending a concert and fan meet-up in Mexico City. The staff were great with all the fans, even watching our videos, chatting to us about the band and asking how the gig went. The manager especially made us feel very at home, he even taught me some Spanish! In terms of facilities, there is a nice courtyard to sit in, computers and free printer to sort out your boarding passes, and complementary coffee at all times in the lobby. It is very convenient to the airport and the hotel shuttle bus makes the trip very easy. The drivers are very nice too! Thanks to all at the Holiday Inn!

I had traveled on a business trip to Mexico City during November 2019. I stayed for 15 days. I absolutely liked the place. Good points - Clean rooms, large rooms, Good service by the staff, courteous and prompt staff, had a corporate deal with the hotel which included 3 pieces of laundry every day which was an excellent deal and helped my folks who were staying for long like for 3 to 6 weeks. I was staying in B Block and all rooms were large ones and had kitchen in them. I could cook almost daily and they would clean all the vessels perfectly clean the next day morning. Overall, i felt very comfortable during the long stay. Now, for the not so good points - only two small bottles of water was provided per day. For some, it would be perfectly fine. For me, i drink a lot of water. And every additional small bottle was 10MXN. But, anyways, was not a big deal. Another point is about the breakfast. Yes, agreed that they never mentioned that the deal included breakfast, rather, they always mentioned that only coffee is included. So, considering that, it was good - just that, it cannot be considered as breakfast. Again, this point too is not on the hotel, it is just to set the expectations accordingly. To add to all this, the location is very good. It is right next to the main road and so has excellent connectivity.

We stayed in Coyoacon so we could walk to Frida’s museum. Our Casa was full of art and the nicest staff ever....they all hugged us when we left, we hated to leave them. The room was huge, bright, and very clean. Our breakfast was fruit to start, then eggs 3 different ways ( you choose), orange juice, toast or tortillas, jam. Tea/coffee, or cereal if you didn’t care for hot choices. Emiliano at the reservation was so welcoming and entertained us with his interest in Science fiction and chess. The poor place in San Miguel Allende where we travelled next just could not compete with our welcome in Mexico City! I would recommend to anyone, very quiet too.

Overall, we loved our stay at MdA! On arrival Fernando greeted us personally. He is an exceptional host. He is a man of great attention to detail, this shows in the details of the guest rooms, in the presentation and taste of the food he serves, and in the garden oasis. As is Jorge, a gentle man, and every staff member we met, Adi our room -keeper was lovely, so much so that she learned an english expression to wish me well. Oh and the breakfasts on the adorable outdoor patio were a daily surprise: always a fresh fruit plate, freshly squeezed juice, and delicious breakfast that reflected Our hosts passion for food. Every day Fernando prepared a local dish from a different Mexican States. The international guests were like-minded in that they wanted a friendly, intimate, authentic, local experience. Again, this is the place! The garden is an oasis, hummingbird arrived near us as we were sitting outside our room. The garden setting is breathtaking. Bouganvillea flowers drop around you. MEven harder to believe is that we are in such a well-located area and a fabulous neighbourhood of Coyoacan, and within a 5-minute walk of Frida Kaylo’s House & Museum. We leave here reenergized, nourished and grateful to have chosen MdA, grateful to our hosts at MdA! Hasta luego, it’s not goodbye! Would we recommend MdA? Yes, 'in a heartbeat'. Why? If you are looking for a jewel, a memorable stay in Mexico City and you appreciate the intimacy of environment, of learning about and connecting with the locals, then this is your place!

I have given the management of this property the opportunity while I was staying there and also sufficient time since I returned to address my complaint but they stopped communicating with the booking company and therefore with me. The property is very well maintained and is in a safe area which is convenient to local bars, restaurants, markets and importantly a 7/11 (You'll see why this is important later). In February we booked a 2 storey Maisonette that accommodated 4 people (2 double beds) for 1 week in August. My wife, 2 daughters and I were due to arrive in Mexico city at 3:40am on the 18th August. To ensure that we didn't have to wait around to 2pm to check-in we paid for our maisonette room on the 17th too even though we knew we wouldn't be there for the majority of it. We also availed of the property's pick up service and were in contact with Antonio right up to the 17th to confirm times for our pick up. We landed slightly earlier on the 18th but decided to wait in the airport until our pick up time. Well we waited and waited and almost 90 minutes after we were due to be picked up we had to phone Antonio. It was clear that we had woke him up but he told us he had been held up by traffic (At 4am on a Saturday? I don't think so) and that he'd be 45 minutes, which turned into 1 hour. We arrived at the property and were charged 450 MXN (£20) for the pick up, which we later found out was about twice what an UBER would have cost. We were led up steps to our room, when we opened the door it was clear that this wasn't the maisonette that we had booked. Instead we were put into a 1 bedroom Studio with 2 metal camp beds shoved in the corner of the Kitchenette / living room. I immediately went back down to the concierge to complain about the wrong room. He informed me that we would have to wait until 8am for the office to open to discuss it with a manager. We went to the office at 8am and spoke to Bruno. We were told that we would have to wait until late afternoon to get the maisonette as there was someone in it. I asked how there could be someone in it when we had booked and paid for it but all I got was a shrug of the shoulders. When we booked the property we were emailed a list of services that was included in the booking as well as a list of services that had an additional charge. Our Maisonette was to include water, tea / coffee making facilities, wine and use of a laundry area. You could say that it is naive to expect wine to be free but when we went into the room there were two 375ml bottles sitting beside 2 glasses on the counter. Admittedly there was also a price list but the wine listed on it were full 750ml bottles. After a day or two we asked Antonio about using the laundry. We were advised that there was a charge to use it. I went back to the room to get our booking email and I pointed out that use of a laundry was to be free. Antonio replied "No, this is a mistake!".
