Villablanca Garden Beach Hotel

Located 30 min walk from town. Best to rent a car. It is quiet. Nice location just across the street from the beach. Nice mature landscaping. Older building in decent shape. No safe in the room so we had to store our valuables in the lobby lockers for a fee. Also if you needed a beach or pool towel you had to rent them from the hotel. Be very careful in the bathroom not to fall in the awkward 2 ft deep pit for the shower, it is literally a hole in the ground, very bizarre. Really bad smell in the bathroom coming from most likely shower drainage pipes. If you left the door open it would smell up the whole room but if you kept the door shut it would solve the smell problem. So you must keep the door closed or the room will smell from the bathroom drainage pipes. Didn’t drink the shower water but the shower water has a slight salt taste to it. Probably coming from the water source the government provides and the water pipes most likely have a crack/s allowing ocean water to seep in. It’s Mexico so you never drink the tap water. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This could be an amazing property with a little tlc Many much needed updates including bedding,fixtures,all around maintenance.Restaurant would be outstanding if it were open..

We pay specially for ocean view and they gave me a hall view. So we left and stay in other hotel

Room was nice, roomy, good a/c. Comfy bed. Large bathroom - we had a superior ocean view room. The restaurant and bar were closed; however, we were within easy walking distance of other eating establishments. Large clean pool with plenty of chairs. No coffee maker in room; however, fresh coffee was available by the pool area each day. There was a mini-refrigerator in our room.

Arrived last ferry from Cancun, so hot & tired in the dark, dragging our luggage. Booked for 1 night last min change in plans. The place has potential to be lovely. I rent Airbnb props at home. Upon arrival, the place had a musty smell. Air-con was on, but frig was unplugged. The white plastic shower curtain in the bathroom was partially attached. I didn't dare take a shower if the presentation wasn't nice. The decor is from the 70's. I don't think they've replaced or modernized the bedding, bedspread, pillows or linens. Couldn't sleep due to lumpy, stinky pillows & grayish sheets. When I pulled the smelly orange bedspread off, I noticed mold patches. The toilets you had to hold the handle down for a full flush. The patio door lock was rusted closed so you couldn't enjoy the patio seating to enjoy the garden. They provided 2 bottled waters which was good for brushing teeth. Next day, I found the coffee, powdered cream, sugar, clean ceramic cup, & a plastic spoon under the covered patio outside by the closed restaurant. But no other amenities. The pool & jacuzzi were nice, but the lawn chair cushions were weathered. No pics to s. When you have the Carribean sea as your backyard, tourists coming in want that vibe of relax, unwind, breathe fresh air & desire beautiful things to look at. Unfortunately, we didn't get that environment at Villablanca. A few modern upgrades, de-cluttering & deep clean would be beneficial. Jara on the checkout was helpful & gave us good tips.

A beautiful garden, small pool, helpful staff and a quite getaway. I love Cozumel and this is my go to place, especially when my goal is relaxing.

Older property that has been well cared for. Quiet and peaceful, friendly staff, and beautiful landscaped areas. The restaurant is currently closed but they have coffee, tea and water out for the guests every morning. We really enjoyed this older hotel!

I love the property due to the fact that it’s nestled in amongst beautiful palm trees and they have a lovely cooling pool too. The rooms are very spacious which is great when sharing a room with someone else.

The grounds were well kept. It was like a tropical garden everywhere you looked. The staff was very welcoming. Our room was like being in a tropical forest on three sides. The air conditioner was nice and cold. Bed was hard as is typical in Mexico. Its a older hotel with a lot of charm. Will definitely stay here on our next trip to Cozumel...
