This hotel is very clean, it is 500 years old so is not modern but rooms and bathrooms are very clean and tody.

We dropped off our daughter at school from the Christmas break, so we decided to spend the night there instead of returning. The night staff were charming. We had a drink in the bar, and there seemed to be a full house with people watching the finals of the darts championship. The breakfast was also good. I will be back and would recommend it to anyone.

Love the George,only show in Town and got a good rate which with a great English breakfast included made it great value.
It’s a really old building and a pub thus full of character and charm but don’t expect modern,state of art.Crooked walls,uneven floors,creaky boards and carpets a bit tired .
Set in the Weald of Kent which is beautiful country and Cranbrook a typical village

Room 1 was dark and noisy.
Staff was tremendous and very helpful,
Especially the blonde woman managing the operations.

Very enjoyable stay, evening meal and breakfast were both excellent. Sqeaky floorboards were a bit of a problem, but it is a very old building!! Room clean but looking a little tired.

This is a very quaint place to stay with many period features in the rooms. It is, however, not an ideal stay if you are wanting some modern comforts (the bathroom was huge, but down steps with a low door frame which we hit our head on many times- even with the helpful sign to 'watch the step.'). It's above a pub/restaurant so expect some noise until that shuts. And it is in a remote town that can only be accessed by car- if you are planning on taking a taxi anywhere, book at least a week in advice. All of this is fine for a night, if the cost of the stay wasn't so expensive. Overall, if you go into it knowing these things, you'll enjoy the stay. Breakfast was especially good.

Comfortable stay with friendly staff and evening meal and breakfast was excellent.
Hotel was functionable but a little tired decor wise.
