Hotels in Gatwick Airport Area, Crawley

I spent one night at the Europa and I wasn't very much I pressed considering the price of the room (almost £80). Here the issues I spotted: 1) Poor bus connection and time consuming (40 minutes) to and for the airport : number 100 is a bus with no racks for the luggages 2) At the bus stop no indications for the Hotel, so ease use an app to find out the hotel's direction 2) Room not very clean 3) Power sockets on the opposite wall compared to the sidebed's tables 4) Bathroom's fan dirty 5) Bathroom's sink ruined 6) very noisy Aircon in the room Positive has been the interaction with a Lady at the check-in and the taxi connection. I do believe that for approximately £80 the quality should improve: cleaner rooms and higher quality of the furniture. As mentioned, the staff was very nice and kind, but on a scale from 0 to 10 I would value my experience as 5-.

I specifically booked a night at the Sofitel Gatwick because it included 'Meet and Greet' parking with Maple Parking. Had they not included this I would have still stayed but made other arrangments for my car. I arrived at the Maple Parking Meet and Greet and parked the car. Took my keys over to the attendant and signed in. I then asked if they could give me 20 minutes to check in to the hotel, change clothes and bring a bag back to the car. We didnt want to bring a bag of unclean clothes on holiday with us. Here's where things went downhill faster than Gwynth Paltrow on ski's. The attendant, a tall bloke with a mid-european accent shouted at me 'No, do you know you are at an airport'. He actually shouted this. Shouted. To a customer. Take a minute to breathe that in. Fortunatly I knew I was at an airport, having driven 4 hours to get there. To hear that I was at an airport was no surprise, to be shouted at by a car park attendant was. I explained that I didnt want to take a case of unclean clothes on holiday with me. His response to that was 'we are extremly busy and your car will be removed immediately'. I asked if the hotel would hold the bag and he replied 'No they will not hold your stupid bag'. Here's where I should have murdered him with his Maple Meet and Greet Staff lanyard, but I did not. I asked for my keys back to be told once again in an truely agresive manner 'if you take your keys I will close the entry and you can't come back'. I took the keys and left. I then had to park at Gatawick Long stay for an additional £150. We finally checked into the hotel, explained the situation. The checkin lady (Alessia?) apologised and gave us two tokens for a free drink at the bar. They also kept our bag for us. Is this the fault of Sofitel Gatwick? I think it is. They decided to partner with a company that treats people appalingly. So they've got to accept responsibility for that. Please share this review, If I saw something like this I would have chose another car park or another hotel. Other people should be warned.

Hotel clean and tidy. Very good location. Bed was big and confy. The room has a big bathroom very well equipped with towels, shampoo and shower gel. The room has also a fridge with cold drinks. The hotel also provides a shuttle service to go to the Terminal and it is close to the bus stop. NIn every floor there are vending L L lmachinesdeerx for snacks and cold drinks. Also you can get tea and coffee.

I loved my experience at the Bloc. It was so easy to find and very welcoming after a long train journey. The staff were very helpful with my questions about simple things. I liked the complementary drinks in the serving room, the lovely thick towels and welcome message for me, and also that the room was dark and quiet, which I needed for a long journey ahead of me. I liked the discounts in surrounding shops. Perfect.

Booked via Holiday Extras for this hotel as we needed a place close to the airport to park our car and stay overnight for our earlier morning flight to Spain. Welcome on arrival first class. Everything was explained clearly and with a smile. Our request for an early morning call noted and carried out on time. Bit of a rush leaving as we tried to catch the shuttle but again staff dealt very quickly with everything and enabled us to catch the shuttle. On arrival back at the hotel after our holiday, again staff on reception very very efficient polite and informative. Room was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back. A perfect stay! Thank you.

We have been staying at the Hotel for a few weeks now. After long hours at work, we just wanted to stay somewhere where we can disconnect with work, relax and connect with other people. Nevertheless, I would like to share with everyone that Bar attendant (James) would always go that extra mile to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. Is not just about serving you a drink and taking orders. Excellent customer service by always interacting with customers, offering advice, friendly, accommodative making our staying very pleasant. Long story short - DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Me and my partner were due to fly out to Cyprus, checked in the day of our flight - booking wasn’t on system, was told that they would sort for us so we can stay when we arrive as was early hours. When we arrived back last night - We were delayed. We were greeted by an extremely rude older man (white hair and glasses) who was doing the night shift, was very unpleasant rubbing his eyes “what do you want, you’ve just woke me up”. He repeated this multiple times which I found very rude for someone who is supposed to be working. After explaining the situation to him he still kept going on about us being late , and not booked in so nothing had changed about our booking! Was then told he had a spare room. THE ROOM How can you let guests stay in such places?! The room was very cramped, the sink was in the corner of the bedroom. Smelt very musty and the bathroom smelt like stale cigarettes! Can hear everything going on in other rooms, All conversations, phone calls, showers etc! £176 for 2 people is absolutely ridiculous!! Let’s just say, I will NOT be returning. There are 100% better hotels around Gatwick. Pay the extra. Don’t waste your money on this …. Wouldn’t even call it a hotel. Only good thing about the stay was they managed to keep our car safe!

I arrived very late because my flight was delayed but the host was extremely accommodating and welcoming even at 2:30am! The room was extremely clean and very close to the airport. Great breakfast in the morning and for the price I couldn’t have asked for more!

We checked in after midnight due to a late flight. We booked using a military rate and when we arrived at the room the seel on door was peeling off. The room we got placed in was 254, the lady who checked in in front of us was placed on the 3rd floor and told this was the ‘premium floor’. Our room was very old, the old dark wood furniture was scratched and dated. The bathroom was mouldy and there were marks on the surfaces and the room in general looked nothing like the photos on the website when we booked. We noticed a blood splatter on the wallpaper behind the old couch, however we were exhausted and up early for another flight so just went to bed, which was clean and comfy. When we woke up this morning we noticed the blood splatter was also over the mirror and up the wall. We told reception and we were given 50% off the room rate. Given the health and safety of this I felt this was poor however I also understand we should probably have told them as soon as we arrived last night and given them the opportunity to move us room. However given how prominent it was I’m not sure how cleaning missed it. On a positive note the staff were lovely, the breakfast was good apart from the hair that I pulled out my beans. I was exceptionally disappointed, this is the second courtyard by Marriott that I have stayed in recently that I have been disappointed with the cleanliness off. I would expect better from Marriott.
