We were guven a cold room for the night. I walked in the cold to look for manager as the phone waa not working. He finally gave us a mobike electric heater which would not heat the big poirly cleaned room in the back. One of the radiators was not working. Thevothercwent cold shorrly before midnight as they put off heating. We didnt showr that night and in the morning too as the shower had cold icy water. It was my secinf time to use this hotel. The furst time i lost my perfunlme when i forgot my box in the lounge. Overrall, its not value for money and i will not be going back there.

Courteous and friendly staff eager to help. Warm welcome and helped with luggage to our room. Room was nice and clean and warm compared to cold outside. They also provided a stand alone heater in case we wanted to keep heating continuously on. Enjoyed freshly cooked breakfast. Owner dropped us to train station without any charges 😊 Prices is very reasonable compared to area. I have seen some other reviews which I don’t think so the justice.

Stayed here for one night with the family and had 2 rooms. We were kindly upgraded to a family bigger room for no extra change. The rooms were clean and the owner was very friendly. The hotel was good value for money and the breakfast was loverly.

Arrived to find our room freezing cold as the radiator valve was on the floor. Host went to collect a portable radiator as that would be ok (his words not mine). Looking around the room while waiting for him we were not impressed. Found months if not more of grime on the window with mould growing. Ceiling had huge cracks and damp patches. The kettle had water left in from previous guests and was quite smelly. Toilet bowl was filthy with staining in, and part of the flush was missing. When using the toilet the bowl filled with water and took quite some time to go down. The shower was very unhygienic with mould and unknown residue around it (the shower in the other room leaked into the bathroom). The hand basin had a substantial leak and there was mould and a puddle of water behind the pedestal. While trying to get to sleep, we could smell cigarette smoke and hear voices. Looking out of the window we noticed members of staff under our window. We tried to shut the window and had a fair struggle to close it. Soon after a member of staff arrived to ask if we were having trouble with the window. I said it was sorted and he left. Other room we had booked was of a similar standard hygiene wise, but the radiator in that one could not be turned down or off and the cobwebs and grime around the window which was right by the bed was concerning. On trying to open the window it dropped open and then was a struggle to close. The drawers in both rooms were broken and had no runners. I mentioned this to the guy who took us to the room, he said ‘I’ll tell maintenance’. The TV was tiny, not much bigger than a laptop screen. We requested a travel cot at time of booking but was not in the room. On asking we finally got with no bedding, so asked for bedding for the travel cot only to be given a bed sheet and a full size bed blanket. We had to set up the travel cot to find it was quite stained. The bedding in second room was also stained. As it was late and we had a young child we agreed to stay the one night (we had booked 2) and booked somewhere else for second night. When handing the keys back the guy on reception was surprised we were checking out, saying you booked two nights. When I said we can’t stay as the rooms are filthy and unhygienic he was surprised. I mentioned about the radiator and said that it should not have been let out if it wasn’t habitable and he said it was the responsibility of maintenance….. no pal it’s everyone’s responsibility. The person who took me to the room should have checked the room before taking us to it. I said the travel cot was dirty and he just said ‘really”? The nonchalance was astounding. I said we would be seeking a refund for the second night as we have a valid reason to not stay, he just said Ok. They’ve had our money and provided a less than enviable experience. Also, don’t be fooled by the dining room being set up for breakfast. When we asked what time breakfast was, we were told it’s not incl

Shocking Room! 2*star In my opinion,? Do Not Recommend Save Money Book Elsewhere. Dial House Hotel Was given a rating of 3*. Looked okay and reviews were okay. So decided on a short 3 night stay as price seemed reasonably. £78 a night. Not worth it. Wished we had not bothered, but unfortunately had a No Cancellation policy. Upon arrival hotel looked pleasant enough. Was greeted by Manager and offered breakfast @£15 each, which we declined. I did have mobility issues and didn't realise there would be stairs up to rooms, and there was no lift. We didn't actually get asked if we had any issues with stairs prior to booking. The room shown to us was not in hotel but an annex room at back of hotel. Was greeted pleasantly by Manager and then was asked to follow him to our room. We thought we were going upstairs but instead was taken back out of the hotel to a room outside of the hotel around the back of the hotel into an annex room at the side of hotel. He said to us" very lovely view of garden in morning" Okay! we said. Very small door into room have to step in sideways. We were greeted with an awful room. Twin beds with spillage marks on throw overs, very dirty bedside cabinets, cup ring marks and finger marks all over including the light switches. Dirty cup tray. Kettle lead not able to reach plug area. Cut up pile of carpet on room floor blocking door. Curtains hanging off rails. Bathroom had cobwebs, taps unclean and the toilet did not flush waste, Had to use kettle to flush down after use. as for the garden view well! Garden was just a dog poo area with two chairs. No proper house cleaning done. The bathroom had a sliding door which was so noisy to close. It was also so close to one of the beds you could literally nearly touch the toilet on the other side of the room it was that close gave no privacy from bedroom to bathroom. As for the noise from above room.... shocking all night noise. you can hear noise disturbance all night. No peaceful nights sleep. We reported our findings in morning after being asked by Manager. We were told that it was a woman put in there by the council but she kept having men in there when she was not supposed to. He was going to talk to her again. I got the feeling that the council was paying to put guests up there from the clientele we saw. I discussed my room findings with the Manager and sent him my photo's with my complaint by e-mail giving him chance to respond. But the response was not to my satisfaction, hence the review on Trip Advisor

7 night stay. Bed linen never changed, shower drain blocked for 2 days, towels only changed once and only when asked. Have a bar and restaurant but nobody ever used them. Staff around only occasionally checked out by leaving the room key on a locked office door. 3 times I returned to the room to find the door not closed completely.

My wife and I choose this hotel to stay while visiting my son who lives close to hotel. I must say, I am very impressed with hospitality. Syed welcomed us in car park and helped with luggage. Very lovely person, who takes time to talk and makes you feel very comfortable. Room was very clean with very comfortable bed. Following morning we choose to have breakfast, which we enjoyed in their nice restaurant with lovely music. We definitely re commend this to everyone and we will come back again when visiting our family.
