Reviews of Daegu Marriott Hotel

We recently stayed at the Marriott in Daegu and were extremely disappointed with our experience. First, there was visible fungus (mold) on the ceiling of the shower, and the edges of the shower were rotten and covered with mold as well (as we say in Korean, kompang-i). It was very unhygienic and unacceptable for a hotel of this level. Second, the air conditioning did not work. We woke up in the middle of the night sweating because the room temperature was 27°C. We called the front desk around 1:30 AM, and they informed us that the maintenance team had turned off the AC and forgot to turn it back on. How can this happen in a hotel like Marriott? Third, although the parking fee was supposed to be included, we were still charged 8,000 KRW. The hotel staff explained that it was because the car information was not entered in time—something we believe should have been handled properly by the front desk. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was underwhelming. While there were several options, the overall quality and freshness did not meet expectations. We do not recommend this hotel. This experience was far below what we expect from a Marriott. 최근에 대구 메리어트 호텔에 숙박했는데, 전반적으로 매우 실망스러웠습니다. 첫째, 샤워실 천장에 곰팡이가 보였고, 샤워부스 가장자리들도 썩고 곰팡이로 덮여 있었습니다. (한국어로는 ‘곰팡이’라고 하죠.) 위생 상태가 이 정도일 줄은 상상도 못 했습니다. 둘째, 에어컨이 작동하지 않았습니다. 방 온도가 27도였고, 땀을 흘리며 새벽 1시 30분쯤 프런트에 전화를 했더니, 호텔 측에서 관리팀이 에어컨을 꺼놓고 다시 켜는 것을 잊었다고 하더군요. 이런 일이 메리어트 같은 호텔에서 일어날 수 있나요? 셋째, 주차 요금은 포함되어 있다고 들었는데, 차량 정보를 제때 입력하지 않았다는 이유로 8,000원을 청구받았습니다. 이런 부분은 호텔 프런트가 제대로 처리했어야 한다고 생각합니다. 마지막으로, 조식 뷔페도 실망스러웠습니다. 다양한 메뉴가 있었지만, 전반적인 퀄리티나 신선도 면에서는 기대에 못 미쳤습니다. 이 호텔은 추천드리지 않습니다. 메리어트라는 이름에 비해 전반적인 서비스 수준이 너무 낮았습니다.

The room are very spacious and it is quite new hotel. The overall feeling is good but the hotel rate is very high compared to the offered amenities. Nothing much around hotel for shopping

Located right near the main train station. If traveling with kids better not to pay for the breakfast - there are plenty of options around. Excellent service - thanks to Owen at the reception, who helped us out with the printing of the KTX tickets.

It's located very near the train station, department store and restaurants. The buffet breakfast was good. The rooms are spacious.

Daegu Marriott impressed from the start. The staff's warm welcome set a great tone, and my room was a delight - clean, modern, and comfortable. Mornings were fueled by a delicious breakfast spread. Helpful staff were always available to answer questions and make recommendations. Overall, a luxurious and hassle-free stay in Daegu.

Walking distance to train station dongdaegu station. There are many convenient shops nearby such as emart, 7 eleven, GS within walking distance. Nice buffet spread

A very new hotel located within walking distance to Dongdaegu station. Amenities are excellent, including the fitness centre. Note that the sauna and pool are chargeable.
