Reviews of Dali first International Youth Hotel

Very nice hostel in the middle of Dali old town. They have scooters available for rent and also a nice rooftop terrace. I would recommend to stay here if you come to Dali.

Charming hostel nestled in the heart of the old town. Although it's a bit tricky to locate, this adds to its tranquility, making it an ideal spot for restful sleep. One minor drawback is the lack of an open communal area where guests can easily connect with locals or fellow travelers. The hostel predominantly hosts Chinese guests, which might make foreign visitors feel somewhat isolated.

Perfect location, very quiet but close to everything. Comfortable room and helpful receptionist, we could do the laundry and rent a scooter in a hotel which was very comfortable and cheap. There is also a nice rooftop and you can buy something to drink from a fridge by the reception

I stayed in this hostel for three nights and had the room to myself the majority of time. I guess it can get quite stuffed if more than two people are staying. It’s centrally located in the old town but also quiet because it’s tucked away in a side alley.

Nice place to chill in Dali Old Town, the rooftop is amazing to enjoy the sun if the weather is good ! Don’t hesitate to come here !

Such great staff. They are so helpful! The hostel is also amazing. Has a great vibe to it and the location is perfect. You are in the old town in less than 3min but it’s still quiet in the hostel, as it is located in a quiet alley. Would definitely recommend staying here!

l would like to give a thumb up to this hostel. The staff in this hostel are friendly and helpful. It is easy to access other parts of the ancient city. You can take bus number 4 to the Dali ancient city from Train station. There are no bus services to stop in the ancient city. All tourists have to walk into the ancient city.

genuinely one of the best hostels i've stayed at!! Such a nice vibe, extremely clean and you can even use the kitchen with a free water dispenser!

As often in China, the bed are hard. But this is part of travelling! A part from that, everything was for me perfect. Everything is new and super clean, a cleaning lady comes every day. There is a kitchen and you can do your laundery by yourself for free. In the bathroom there is hairdryer. You can also rent scooters. And the staff is nice and helpful! I recommande 100%

The hostel is right in the centre of the ancient town. The staff I friendly even though they do not speak English. The bed was very hard but I still slept well.

The location is very nice in the middle of the Ancient Town, there is lots of tourist and touristic shops. The car or bus cannot enter, so there will be a 10 min walk to the hostel from the city entrance. Theres many restaurants nearby and lots of street food. Also close to the shuttle buses for touristic areas. Since places are a bit far in Dali and theres mainly shuttle buses, public buses and cars to drive around, I suggest staying at least 3 days. My only complaint is the female bathroom situation specifically at night. The cleaning would be in the morning and by night it would get very messy. But this is also due to the guests behavior, so the solution would be cleaning at night too. The staff was nice and sometimes would arrange activities in the group chat. I recommend and would come back.

The mattress is so freaking thin. Please fix it

The hostel is located in the heart of Dali Ancient Town and other main attractions too just within walking distance. Just remember, pick a drop-off point, by choosing the nearest distance to the main road from the hostel. Friendly and helpful female staff at the receptionist and the room provided is worth your money and budget.
