We truly enjoyed our stay here in Linden Centre. Staff were kind and very accommodating. Hotel tour was amazing, our guild explained the architecture and history of the hotel in detail and how it relates to the local people during the time. My 16 year old boy and I learned so much during the tour. Hotel location was perfect, and front desk ladies were able to arrange tours, drivers for us and made our entire experience easy and enjoyable.

This is a very special hotel and even more. Staff was very kind and during the guided tour through the market, city and old hotel building you can learn a lot about Xizhou and it's traditions.

We had a great stay at the Linden. The building was beautiful, the rooms were very comfortable, and everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. They were great about answering questions and giving advice. They offered us a great walking tour of the market and town, and we learned a lot about the two Linden Centre locations. I also really appreciated that when I came back to my room in the evenings the heat and lamps were always on so I had a cozy place to rest right away. A great home base to explore Xizhou, and Dali as long as you don't mind a bit of a didi ride.

A gem of a hotel!! Comfortable bed and nice simple breakfast. Staff was great! Also a great playroom for our 3year old. Sad the market tour was not happening in the summer as we heard that is not to miss.. but we got a nice architectural tour instead! So happy we got to spend 2 nights here- will happily come back and excited to check out the other locations when we have a chance. Thank you!

What a gem! Beautiful and authentic hotel with lovely staff, great service and attention to details. I love the fact that the hotel itself is a historic site and the owner has done a lot to preserve the local culture, history, and tradition. Location is great too.

We really enjoyed our short stay in the Linden Centre. Great location in the middle of rice field at the outer edge of the ancient village Xizhou. The staff did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. As the daily Center tour wasn’t available in English, the owner Brian jumped in and gave us a 20 minute introduction. We can highly recommend this place if you want to learn about the culture and be close to the beautiful nature at Erhai lake.

I almost love everything about it. Especially the outdoor patio where you can overlook the rice fields. Food was amazing too and the staff are wonderful. One tiny comment about the shower head: it is fixed and the water is always hot, regardless whichever direction you turn. If this can be fixed, I'd give 100!

We can just recommend a stay at the Linden Center. The management is excellent. The staff speaks english and is friendly and supportive. One of the best hotels we had been in a Chinese village! If you want to visit Dali/Xizhou Linden Center is the place to stay! Special thanks to Matt for the excellent support and to Mason for the interesting market tour and to the Ayi who was every day so happy and welcoming!

Thank you to Brian, Jeanne and the team, including Shirley who gave us a warm welcome and a wonderful stay. The Linden Center in Xizhou is a fascinating and wonderful place to visit and stay. Learn about the history of the house and local area. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The food is excellent, choose to eat on the restaurant, the relaxing bar or the gorgeous terrace overlooking the green paddy fields and mountains. Take the morning market tour and be guided around Xizhou with it’s beautiful architecture and friendly people. We actually didn’t go very far this trip as we just enjoyed relaxing in the linden center courtyards, our kids also especially enjoyed the playroom. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back to visit the other Linden Centers.

Building itself is one of the best sites to see in Xizhou. Town is highly recommended for a day or two. Hotel itself is more historic than boutique. Service is okay; good English spoken. Restaurant was closed. Owners Brian and Jeanne are engaging and helpful. Hotel has bikes, but they're in bad need of some maintenance!

The hotel you stayed at is located at No. 5, Chengbei Village, Xizhou, formerly the home of Mr. Yang Pinxiang, one of the eight members of the Xizhou merchant family. With his love for Chinese culture, Mr. Linden came to Xizhou many years ago to use the old house left behind by Mr. Yang Pinxiang as a cultural exchange center, but unfortunately this courtyard had already become a national key cultural relics protection unit at that time, with his love for Chinese culture, he did not give up, but chose to settle in Xizhou and communicate with the local government and residents. At the beginning of the LindenCentre, Mr. Linden sold his family's property and carefully restored the house. Because it is a heritage conservation unit, we regularly repair it every year, but we cannot make any major changes to the layout of the rooms, so I am sorry that the environment and facilities did not meet your expectations. We are sorry that we were unable to use the restaurant at LindenCentre during your stay, but our other store, LindenCommons (a 10-minute walk from LindenCentre), was open and the public facilities at both stores are available and shared by our guests. We will also maintain the bicycles on a regular basis in order to provide a good experience for each guest. Once again, thank you for taking LindenCentre as a stop on your journey. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations this time and let down your trust and gave you some bad experiences. Currently LindenCentre has stores in Dali Shaxi and Suzhou Dongshan, if you have time, you are welcome to experience different features in other stores next time, best wishes!
