Butong Taoli Guesthouse

I usually don't leave bad reviews, but my stay was truly awful. The room design was quite stylish, but it was hard to find, and I couldn't park near the entrance, so I had to walk a long way with my luggage. All of that was manageable, but the bathroom light by the door kept turning on by itself! It inexplicably turned on two or three times after I turned it off at night. I eventually had to pull out the key card, but then the air conditioning stopped working, so I couldn't sleep properly. The next morning, around 9 AM, housekeeping just swiped open the door without even knocking! They came in and said they had the wrong room number. After they left, they knocked on the door again. I asked what they wanted, and they ignored me and swiped themselves back in. When I asked why they were back, they said they wanted to apologize! I reported it to the front desk, and they just said they'd pass it on to their manager, claiming the housekeeper was new. I was so angry.

Great location, right in the Venetian Water Town.

The area around the bed was extremely dirty. The air conditioning was controlled by the front desk, so we didn't even have any control over it. There were no curtains or screens; if we opened the windows, we'd get bitten by mosquitoes, and if we didn't, it was unbearably stuffy. The morning sunlight was so bright that it was impossible to sleep.

Personally, I don't think it's suitable for families with children. The hygiene is poor, and there's a lot of echo when you talk in this kind of room...

This guesthouse is amazing! The location is fantastic, the rooms are clean, spacious, and bright, the service is impeccable—the staff are friendly, efficient, and responsive to every request. The decor is unique and lovely, and all the facilities are beautifully arranged. It's incredibly clean, making for a worry-free stay. The soundproofing is excellent, and I slept soundly all night. It's a perfect place to rest and relax during my travels—truly wonderful! ✌️
